I'm 28, English and living in London, and for four years have been unhappily celibate due to my inability to pick up women.

It's quite pathetic actually. Before I moved to London I used to have some success getting attractive women. I never felt this was a problem in my life, and I am no stylish looking muscled guy by any means (worse then)! However when I moved to London, the kind of knockbacks I was getting ("I only speak to guys who earn £30k per year and you don't look like that guy!" etc...), along with the total lack of IOIs I was getting robbed me of my confidence completely (not even eye contact!).

This was also due to the sheer male competition in bars, clubs etc. (it seems impossible to stand out against all the Oxbridge-educated £200K+ earning investment bankers and traders, cool Brazilians and Italians, toned and muscled Aussie and Saffa backpacking surfers who could regale with stories of beaches in Goa etc...) I do alright for myself, and have some quite cool interests such as Mountain Climbing in Scotland, travelling in Europe etc., but everyone has seen and done it 10x better before!

I will admit that for a while I was resentful of women, but I have got over that now.

So there you have it. I'm here to start again and learn from scratch about seduction. We all have to start somewhere.

Although due to my age,(19) i dont go to the same bars etc as you, i agree London is a weird and sometimes difficult place for pick-up.

When I first started working in my current job, I went out a lot to pubs and clubs around Canary Wharf and West India Quay (because I work in Docklands), but now I tend to drink in places like Camden or the Centre of London. How about you?

London is a weird place to pull in general, but at least here I don't feel that at some point in the night I'm going to get started on by some jealous chav who happens to fancy the same girl, as has happened a few times in Manchester where I used to live.

Well i havent been out much to pubs or clubs in the last 2 months, some of the places i have gone have been scumholes with bad chavs, stuck up posh boys and the like, in west London. I'm sure some 21 and over venues would be much more classy, but ill have to wait two years for that.

Even so, I'd love to try out central, since i never really get the chance to go there.

Well thats what it feels like anyway, i cant wait to get the hell outta here its a dump, but yeah then again at least there aint fights kicking off all the time and people talking to you like shit, i guess it aint that bad, but a town of 23 thou just aint big enough.

You are right of course, AceRimmer, and I have worked hard to get over that belief in some way. A decent inner game is something I'm working on attaining.

mozyFresh, if it is that bad then maybe moving is the preferred option. However, I'd be interested to know how many people on this forum take the trouble to move to a new area just to meet more women.

Ahhhh now thats the thing, i've been waiting to move this town for like 2 years or more now, on the waiting list. Im just absolutly sick of the town im in at the mo, it feels like a dead end town to me, the one im moving to is like 3 times the size, more jobs, more housing, more talent, better night life and so on. Thats why im moving.
I have heard someone on this forum talking about moving to a bigger city for this reason. I bet alot of guys do that.

I have no clue what places you sarge man... Central is really fun and generally friendly, try a bunch of places around Leicester square. Me and two wings got invited to a VIP party by some theatrical actor we met that night, and sets were blowing open. And we're all fairly average guys, with less than one year's sarging experience.

If canary wharf doesn't work for you - try Leicester square. But I gotta admit, you have me intrigued, I'll definitely hang out in CW at some point. Must be lots of hot women trying to bag rich bankers =).
