Hey guys,

I woke up today to find a really strange friend request on FB. It was from a girl who my team played against in soccer last night. We didn't say anything at the pitch but afterwards my team went to a bar and she and her team happened to be there as well. We beat them and they were mad so there wasn't an exchanging of words inside.

As my team was leaving she happened to be as well and she was telling our entire team that she appologized for some of the things her team said. After that she and I were walking the same way to our cars and she commented on the bad ref and I joked with her too about how much I didn't like having that ref after some of our other games. About 1 or 2 more back-and-forths and that was it, over and done. I didn't know her name and she didn't know mine. We'd never met or exchanged words before that.

I wake up this morning to find that she added me on Facebook. It took me accepting her request and scowering her pics to figure out who she was. Later today I find that she is liking one of my recent statuses so my interest starts to get piqued.

The question is how should I interpret things and how should I go from here. I'm only here in town for a few more months possibly so I don't really have anything to lose and want to try something with her because why not? I may never see this girl again so how do I approach this through FB. I'm assuming a Direct Message but what is a good opener? We do but don't really know each other.

Let me know how you would interpret her actions, especially if you both didn't even know each others' names. Any advice on FB openers and asking out would be appreciated as well.

Who cares? She's being social with you. Are you gonna sit there and stick your thumb up your ass? Just start talking to her on Facebook. Joke about how she liked your status or whatever. Easy.

I usually just make some comment about a post and roll it into a quick chat where I get their schedule and tell them I'm taking them out on one of those free days.
