Long distance BF problems

I live in a college town. the problem I run into most is that she has a boyfriend....and later in conversation.....he lives 1.5 hours away

i usually joke around about why would you want to do that, when I'm right here?

this gets mixed results...and im just kinda wondering if this is a good line or bad line....and if anyone has had good success with anything else

thats a horrible line, if you want to pick up a girl do it the opposite way, Make it seem like she can't have you cuz she has a bf and he is so good for her. Make him seem like an afc and he is the perfect boyfriend, and give compliments on all of his afc qualities. Like after you compliment on his afc qualities then you say I wouldn't do that for you...

example:

TJM88: I bet he calls you all the time and says he loves you! and how he barely can live withought you!

her: yeah isnt that cute

TJM88: yea, I wouldn't do that for you...
