Hey all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've never been an internet forum guy, but what's drawn me here is the undeniable positive vibe that seems to emanate from just about every thread. I can't help but feel a little more confident after I close the browser.

My life up until this point has been largely of the AFC variety. I'm 26 and looking to make up for lost time. I'm not necessarily the best looking guy (not terrible either), though I do take care of myself and my body and I know there's a lot going for me. Ultimately I have no excuse to not get out there sargin'. Literally all of my dates over the last year and a bit have been online through plentyoffish, and while it's been fairly successful, it's time to step up and do the real thing a whole lot more. Seems so lame to only use the net, and I'm tired of saying "the net" whenever someone asks me where I met so-and-so.

My problems as I see them are twofold:
1) When approaching a woman, I fear I'll have nothing to say after the initial pleasantries and will embarrass myself. I haven't really been born with the gift for gab, and that's lead me to be a quiet guy for most of my life.
2) Laziness. Just need the motivation to go apply some of these techniques.

I'm your typical business traveler; on the road at least half the year throughout the US and Canada. As such, one of my goals is to be able to close very quickly because often I'll be gone next week anyway. I also need to read The Game at some point. That seems like necessary reading around here.

The other item on my list is to take an NLP course. A friend of mine was hyping this idea to me for a while and I've wanted to get around to taking one, but now that I've read more about it here, it's no longer an "if", but a "when". I'll just tell her it was entirely her idea.
