Ok, I saw vicpark talking about this not too long ago, but I've never actually had any success on this website. Has anyone used craig's list with any success? And if so, what was the proper way to set up the account? I'm leery about posting a photo on that website.

My experience is kind of bizarre....

I started using it right around the holidays, and since I had nothing better to do I would post an ad in the m4w section, delete it the next day and post a new one (so it would be at the top). I shit you not, I was getting 3-5 e-mails per day I posted it, the wide majority of which were surprisingly from cute girls, and would end up number closing 2-3 of them. This continued until a couple days after New Year's.

After that, the # of responses started trickling down, to the point where a couple weeks ago I was basically getting nothing.

So, idk why, but it seems major holidays seems to spike it. Or maybe it's something about Christmas/winter break/New Year's.

P.S. I was using an outrageous profile btw, like super off-the wall. Not really cocky, just kind of in the I don't give a shit attitude of "You like sake? I fucking love the shit out of sake. I bathe in that shit 24/7" (seriously, this is literally how I talked throughout my whole profile). A lot of girls said it was the funniest shit they've ever read and "just HAD to message me." So this definitely helped in netting the girls who were surfing the section. However, because of the shit results I'm currently getting, it seems to depend on the time of year for how much exposure you're going to get.

^That's CRAZY! I would love to see some screenshots of that! All I ever got were 3-5 spambots a day. I can only imagine that the truly hideous girls are using Craigslist (the same place I picked up a free broken television and a $25 treadmill) to find a date.

I think it's really based off your location. In my town, I've tried it couple times before, all I got back was spambots and 1 fat chick.

I've browsed M4W before but have never replied to a craigslist ad. I'm too chicken shit that I'll end up skinless in a ditch with socks on. Socks that I didn't show up to the date wearing.

I get asked out every week so using craigslist isn't necessary. I just go on to laugh at the M4M section.

Yeah, there are rules to online dating that apply to everyone. Usually,

1.) Let people know where you are going.

2.) Meet up in public first.

3.) And as far as Craigslist goes, go to a hotel not a house or a motel.

Are these like unspoken rules that everyone assumes? Because I've never had it explained like that. I would probably feel more comfortable if the male poster explained this. Or even better, if he shared concerns about his own well being in the ad.

Yeah... i more or less use the same rules for dating sites... 1 sexy photo, 1 social photo, 1 photo of me doing something cool.

Oh ok. I'll test it out. I am having reservations, but it's worth a try.

These aren't unspoken rules, craigslist puts them up prior to posting so that all users can see them. It's never safe to meet someone alone you don't know. Meeting in public helps to weed out weirdoes, both men and women. If you know that you're meeting up for just sex there's no reason to beat around the bush. Always plan ahead and know some good hotels to meet up at. Have the addresses in prepared quick text, so you can text a friend or a relative where you'll be at for 4 hours.

I have personal experience in online dates gone bad. I didn't know the area, and I didn't know any places in surrounding areas to drive. It doesn't matter if you have to drive an hour out into a safe area, better being safe than sorry. Usually the best way to set up an online date is to meet up in a mutually known safe spot in between the both of you, not far from some good and safe hotels. There are always areas like these.

Just tried posting in the m4w section and got only hits from spammers. Then i tried posting in the mw4w section and i got a couple hits from some cute girls. Not babe status, but definitely fuckable. I'm surprised i got any success, craigslist isn't the first place i would think to find women but apparently theres much more bi curious women than women looking for a guy to fuck.

I'm thinking next time i'm not even going to bother waiting till a fwb is in town, i'll just post in the mw4w section pretending i've already got the 2nd girl, find 2 girls and fuck them.

I got similar results claiming to be a lesbian trapped in a mans body, struggling to break free of my "manly chiseled abs". m4w only seems to work when you dont take it seriously in the slightest.

We'll see. Ironically I got a cold sore again. Which I'm happy about, because I needed a break from women and going outside anyhow.
