Has anyone tested obviously false and humorous DHV routines? Like, instead of giving a plausible story about saving a woman from a burning car wreck, give a story about how you saved a busload of schoolchildren from a burning wreck by chewing through the bus door with your teeth?
I know it's kind of a strange question, but this kind of hit me when I was with my SO and she was all over me, and at one point she tried to grab my nipples. And so I just said something off the wall about being a master of nipple-fu. She laughed, and then I turned to a nearby friend and said "He knows, we trained together" and they both laughed. And then we started on this story about how we were at a bar when some gangsters started messing with us, so he stabbed one guy in the face with his left nipple while I decapitated two with each of mine. By the end she was laughing her ass off, but then I noticed that she was even MORE all over me now.
So I'm wondering, has anyone field tested obviously false but funny DHV routines? I've been thinking about it today and wondering if they might work just as well. Keeping in mind that you're trying to create a subconscious attraction response, could a false story be just as good as a true one?
I do it alot actually. Taking stories to extremes. But I don't really tell them about myself... I talk more about completely off the wall shit that me and her can do together. Like chasing tigers through Africa. Or dressing as midevil gladiators, fighting a battle royale infront of liquor stores... Anything completely wild really.
Being funny and making her laugh is a key to her being comfortable with you. There are many theories about laughter and the comfort level it creates. I used to sell cars and one thing I would always do is make sure my customers were laughing and having a good time. If they were laughing.... they were buying a car. Pick up is alot like sales in the sense that people are making a decision to do something based on HOW it was presented.
One thing to make sure tho... Don't be a clown. There is a very fine line between being FUNNY and being a GOOFBALL. You can easily cross that line by using the same type of humor. What I mean is, don't think because she laughed at one stupid Adam Sandler/Billy Madison type of joke that you should continuously act like you are Billy Madison. The same type of humor can become very annoying VERY fast. A GREAT person to observe as far as "situational humor" is Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Having situational humor will allow you to show that you are a funny person versus someone who can bust out a few funny jokes that are completely irrelevant. Remember... You aren't simply there to entertain her. You are just being yourself.
I personally think showing that you have a funny imagination towards the things that society takes so seriously is what really shows that you have a sense of humor. You've definitely got the right idea....
