Okay, so I'm a musician and I'm interested in this girl who is a singer. She's gorgeous and has a bunch of social proof. She's 18, and a HS senior, and I'm 20 in college for recording. A lot of chicks in the social scene I'm in aren't what I want, but this girl has talent and I'm highly attracted to it.

Background:

I heard her singing on a soundcloud she put up on facebook and she had a great voice. I sent her a message saying I'd work with her to record in a 600k studio if she wanted to. She was down for that.

Then she finds out I'm a guitar player and told me, "everyone tells me they play guitar, but no one plays for me."

Later in the party I'm drunk off my ass, as I'm not really looking for hook ups anymore, and I'm improvising some blues with a friend.

This girl comes by and she's like, "Damn you're really getting it."

I just smile and keep going on.

Then she asks me to play a song for her and I said I didn't know it. Then she asked me what songs I know how to play, and I fucked up and told her mostly ones I wrote and tried to tell her I didn't want to play something someone else wrote.

Later on, she keeps giving me looks throughout the party while she's flirting with other guys. I didn't get jealous and kept doing my thing.

So I got home, kind of drunk after this and sent her a text saying, "hey as soon as I got home I learned that sang you wanted to hear."

And the convo went from there to here:
As soon as I got home tonight I learned that song you wanted me to play.

What song? Beauty and the breakdown?

Yeah, it's the one by Scene Aesthetic

Yup

It's a pretty cool song I'd love to hear you sing it

Can do

What're you doing later in a few hours?

I'm not for sure

Well, I'm going to be cooking dinner, relaxing, and playing some music over at my place. It'd be nice to hang out and hear you sing then.

hey didn't hear back from you so i went ahead and made other plans. I'll make it up to you another time, promise.

Advice on where to go from here? The social scene is in a town of less than 1500 people and she's got to be one of the most desired females in the area, and I'm from a town of 200,000+ people and have been all over the world in my life. I need to use this to my advantage.

My text game is pretty awesome, but you sounded too needy.

When you said that you learnt the song she wanted to hear.. I would have said something more along the lines of teasing by saying "I listened to that song you told me about... it was absolute garbage hah!" followed by a wink or something

And she was replying with short answers so you obviously didnt show enough social proof at the party.

And by replying with that second message you made yourself sound even more needy. Just learn the in's and out's and you'll do better
