In real life, I'm good at coming up with witty things to say because its on the spur of the moment and I have expressions, moods and such to work with, but when I text, I'm almost blank, its like my head becomes empty and its hard to find something witty or clever to say. When I talk with guys I can exaggerate so I can pump out funny shit to say 24/7, but with girls, if you're not careful, you can come off as retarded or immature.

Like now, I was saying "Hey hey" to a chick I've been talking to for 2 days, she replies to me a couple of hours later saying "Sorry I was at work", my mind went blank, I don't know how to reply to that without going back to my AFC days.

My first thought is to tease her about work with sarcastic funny. "oh, that sounds like the most fun you could have been having"

To this kind of messages, I usually reply something along the lines of 'so that's what they call it these days.'

It's qualifying , C/F and I started noticing that women LOVE it when you pick up a notion of a message that they a) did not intend to send or b) secretly tried to hide.

Man, how did I not think of this? I don't get it, when I talk to girls, my mind always goes blank.... It's like this thought that says "Don't fuck up" that ruins everything...

Practice makes perfect... train your mind to think out of the box. I just came back from improv rehearsals, so here's a line for you: Thank you for the meat. Normally, you'd think of some sort of butcher/market situation. But I have a tendency to play very dirty scenes... I think you see where I went with it.
A basic exercise to practice that would be the association game. Get some friends together. Someone throws in a word, you make an association (the first you can come up with, within a split second!), next association, next one... If you think too much in the ordinary way, you'll just go Food - Pizza - Italy - Pizza - Berlusconi - Italy all the time. Try it, it helps a lot
