 Many guys join the forum with all the best intentions. Many people like to learn everything instead of doing it. They feel like they have to work through everything in their mind before they go out and act on it. Instead of going out and getting in the field, they default to learning more, as a way of avoiding.

Most of these guys, myself included, have used ways of self medicating like: food, sex, fantasy, guilt or sympathy from others, and learning more. As an analytical personality have tried this strategy until I got some good advice. Guys like us feel like more information will solve their problems with the ladies. When you do this your limit your success by 95%. You need to go out act, study what you did, and act on the results.

The best advice myself and a lot of the moderators on this site can give you guys is to do it. In most situations you have enough knowledge to get out there and do it. The information way will limit your success. So plan it, do it, study it, and the act again. That is what the field reports are for, for us to learn from our own mistakes and the mistakes of others.

Don't be one that learn everything and has no real experience. It's like a doctor going to school for 8 years and never doing an internship or have any hands on experience. Would you want this guy operating on you? Same difference here, learn what you need to then go act. Learn a few steps of the Mystery Method for example and then go act on it, then repeat!!!

YOU CAN DO IT GUYS, GET OUT THERE AND DON'T LIMIT YOUR SUCCESS!

Glad to see you all agree, I feel it's an important trap not to fall into!

Yeah, I fell into this trap back when I had no time AT ALL :P Instead of doing a lil 5 min thing each day I used that 5 min to learn more. Now that I did have time I really needed to push myself and only have been really going into the field for the last 2 months. And since the last week of last year I've been constantly doing atleast 5 approaches a day. And all I can say is that that has been a lot more valueable then all the reading I had ever done.

Although I do (actually *did,* I don't anymore) read a lot, I went out and tested it, saw what works and what doesn't. Agree, it is certainly easier to give advice to some guy who you know only by nickname over the net than to do it yourself.

Wings (or good, sincere friends) are of good use here - analyze your sarge afterwards (debrief, debrief, debrief!), see your mistakes and learn from them. And help them debrief their sarge of course.

Carpe Diem.

this thread is ok - something everyone should know when they first come in, i guess....
Tripp writes on this thing well, and has started soem good threads in regards to this...

oh, and jsmooth -

on your myspace page next to your profile pic where you have got 'shirt $15 dollars....etc'

you dont have to write the word 'dollars', as this sign '$' means dollars...

so in essence your writing '15 dollars dollars'

J, you have just described my state for the last week or so, when I was asking L.A. about something that I think ties into this mind state. As always, good looking out. Peace homie

Well again, the big thing a lot of men do is use this as a way of creatively avoiding. So when a guy says, "Hey man let's go sarge tonight, its ladies night a xxxxx venue!" You say something like, "Well I need to get this down and that down before I go out!" You are using learning as a way to creatively avoid doing.

Glad to hear that you are out in the field. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is tough at first but you start to enjoy it after a while! :)
