Many people have STD's and do not realize it. 80% of people with type 2 herpes don't have symptoms and doctors typically don't test for it when you go in to get STD tests. It's the same with several strains of HPV. Men don't generally get tested for HPV. On occasion, people without the symptoms of these viruses can still transmit them to others. Also, people frequently lie about STDs due to the negative social stigma. Your girl is just being safe and responsible.

Also, while oral sex CAN transmit some STDs, vaginal sex (and anal sex) pose a much greater risk of transmission. Just say'n.
