Now put yourself in that situation, and the gay guy says "Who lies more boys or girls?" - sounds a lot more creepy then "Hey how's it going"? - chances are even with a gay guy who you clearly aren't attracted to at all, you'll probably respond. That being said, this is an extreme case where the gay guy has no chance of sparking attraction, but with women once you've opened you can transition and build rapport.
