What should be the standard amount of report built before asking for the number? Now it could be that I am a moderately inpatient man but I usually wait about a week before attempting a number close on an HB regardless of the amount of messages sent. I attempt to try to move things towards an IM conversation in order to escalate things but the HB's Im talking to often reply without giving there IM. However, they were all showing a high amount of interest initially and up until this point.

In the past Ill often say, ''Hey darling, so its been fun chatting with you but this online messaging thing is getting a little boring for my taste, why don't you send me your IM id or shoot me a text sometime and we can get to know each other better that way. XXX-XXX-XXXX ''

I would often get a pleasant text a few days later while at work. But lately that hasn't been working.

In summation, every time I ask for a number they often respond with that 'its too soon' or we 'just started chatting so you must get bored easily' or 'so you're saying I'm boring?'

In my opinion, it doesn't make sense to spend weeks getting to know someone and building up all of these expectations when you can easily do that in about 30 minutes over the phone.
These girls are hot, but they often will respond after 3 days with a one sentence response, so at this rate it takes forever to have a descent amount of report built, according to there standards.

How should I go about this? Also do you think its better to leave her with my number or ask for her's??

Are you talking strictly on IM?

Ideally i would try to end the first or second conversation with some sort of number exchange
(depending on the vibe of course - you gotta be able to detect that)

Admittedly it's easier to give your number:

e.g. if you are talking about going on a night out, finish the conversation with
something like 'ok gotta dash now, let me know if you're out and about- 0123456789 x)

but ideally you want her number i guess, if she says shes going to a certain club, perhaps convey
some interest and say 'have you got a number i can catch you on, incase i do decide to come out?'
- asking it like that seems fairly innocent and non-needy....
