That line was a bit off for you because I gave it to RedBaron during xmas season. In your case, it was already way past it. It has become awkward and sounds more like a pickup line to her. Hence, it threw her off. And also she was very open about talking to sex, you didn't have to use that line, you could have just gone straight to sex. "What's your favorite position?". Simple. Straight to the point.
