BTw I crashed and burned, so don't get all happy for me, here's what happened:

Me and my wing Greenlantern were at a bar on santa monica and fairfax, boring night, that place had "seasoned socialites." I almost never get a number close there, girls there hate me or something, and everyone asks, "have you read the game?" I use that line you guys told me to do, the one where I just say "yea I have, have you? wow i like that about you: keeping up with pop culture, bla bla."

Anywho that night it was raining pretty hard, this was this past saturday, and vince vaughn and the apple comerical guy were there. Then we saw Drew and I knew I had to open that group. That place was packed and there somehow seemed to be an invisible aura that just prevented people from standingi n close proximity to the "celebrity table." I pyshced myself out then went into the bathroom and reapeated "i'm gods gift to all women on this planet" then came out. I warmed up with a 3 set of gay guys, one of them tried to talk me out of talking to Drew and also kinda was giving me IOIs. Then told Greenlantern "here I go" he boosts my confidence somehow just by being there. I went in and opened with "This (pause) is fefintiely where the party's at." They all stopped talking and looked my way. " You guys aren't from around here, I know, you guys are New Yorkers." They all just stared blankly at me, so I asked, "what do you guys all do?"

Vince ignored me and just turned his head and continued talking to his group; that guy from swingers was also at their table. Drew was nice though, she told me they were from here and that they were in entertainment.

Then I felt the guy to my left grab my arm and say "hey man, we just wanna be left alone." I completely froze out. Then I realized I was leaning in, and that my scarf was haning over this guy's head. I like to refer to him as the bodyguard/Amogger. Anyways I didn't even get a chance to take care of the interrupt and just gave up and said " PLeasure meeting you guys." Drew is always nice, and she gave me a sympatheic smile. She looks pretty and she gt skinnier too from her movies.

anyways, I learned something about celebs, you gotta counter their damn amoging bodguards/entourage before they'll even think you're high value enough to "earn" their attention, their bodyguards are the shit tests. Makes sense, my approach sucked should have just approached isntead of waited and psyched myself out, so touche, better luck next time.

any comments about what i could have done better are always welcome, thanks in advance.

Tell you what man you got some stones to go up and open them. I'll give you that. However, you did open with comfort "You guys aren't from around here, I know, you guys are New Yorkers." Otherwise, outside of the pecking I think you did well.

In theory, I think that with celbs would be better to talk and entretain everybody on the bar first! If you can do that , 2 things will happen! 1) People will pay less atention to them and they will notice that, therefore they will notice you! 2) With everybody else having fun because of you, they may want to have fun and meet you too! Eseaier said than done! lol

Also, i wouldn't pretend i don't know who they are! Lots of people might have tried that already and they must be sick of it! I would!

Congrats on have the guts to do what most guys on this forum wouldn't do. At their core, celebs are just people too, however you do have the other shit to knock out of the way, like their bodyguards, which they have for a reason.

I wouldn't have launched into those routines. I think you probably got as far as you could have expected on that particular situation. You would have been able to get further if it was just one celeb or something like that. They had strength in numbers at the time. Plus the added security guards.

Obviously though, you see that you need to watch your body language more. And props, if you were them.

First of all man congrats!! Trying to open "celebs" demonstrates that you take the game seriously and you have the courage to do what others don't do. That's progress so keep it up! If you keep progressing you will sarge anyone you want in a while.

Other than the body language thing you mentioned I think that pretending that you didn't know them was try-hard. Not being affected from their fame is one thing but "what do you guys do" makes you seem like a jerk who's only there to be a smart-ass. Next time smile, watch your energy levels, maybe you could approach with a female pivot and use an opener. Nothing too long like "jealous girlfriend" cause that requires them to work more.

Keep it up man. Every set from now on will seem way too easy.

Do you make alot of money? Could you hsow them a good time, why would you even want to, what do you have in common with them, you're not in the same field so it's not like you have a common interest.

it's good that you completely ignored the fact that they were celebrities with your opener, based on what you described i might have opened all of them at the same time like you did but included the body guard and started conversation with him first since he was the most threatening, drew would have probably been like wtf haha

I think he's absolutely right..

My theory is that people are celebrities because they represent the most extreme cases of our population... e.g. Vince Vaughan is the funniest person you'll meet (or one of), Drew Barrymore is the perfect quintessential "kinda-cute-girl-next-door" type, etc...

When they go out to clubs, bars, etc. together, they go out to be seen with each other. What did you have to offer them by joining in their conversation? They'd be seen with "just another dude" (not trying to hate on you here, would be the same for any of us), and they probably see enough of those guys to be pissed off/jaded/weary of random people just trying to hang out with them (celebrities have to be especially cautious when they go out nowadays, their next scandal is always waiting around the corner and they're warned to not hang out with random "questionable" people they meet).

However, I'm sure they would have been much more receptive, if, as Hunt (kind of) pointed out, you had proven yourself to be the true alpha of the club (walking around, social proof with pretty much every set, ton of girls ready to f*ck you, you get the point..). Especially if they're out with other people, celebrities only want to meet "awesome" people, and you have to meet a certain bar to get there. Keep in mind you're also dealing with higher egos here, as celebs are used to hanging out with other "extremes" of the population (other celebs) and it will take something out of the ordinary to get them to open up.

Props though.

With this kind of thinking not only do you give AA a stronghold, but you kill your chances becoming an mPUA. So what if they are celebs? They are human, and almost every member of this forum would choke with celebs, but he didn't. At least, not at first.

Thanks guys, I always go out around celebs, It's hollywood, they're everywhere, But after this time, I'll definitely sarge celebs again.

I guess I wasn't really trying to get an outcome, I told Green lantern, Hey I bet you I can stay in set for at least 3 seconds. And I did! By pulling a lot of pauses in my sentences to build suspense=P
