Today was the first day of class, and I fucked up by waking up late (went out the night before) for my 8am class. I said to myself, "ok, showing up late is better than no show" but when I got there about to open the door to walk in being all AFC-ish, and DLV myself to the entire class (may have potential HBs, I don't know yet). I just walked back to my car and drove home working on other things. Skipped this one.

I was 15 mins late, and the rule is that after 15 min you are absent. By coming in late for the first day I will DLV, but if I don't show up (which is what I did) then people will wonder where the hell I might be, or if I am in a better place then they are?

Do keep in mind that I am one of the TOP student, and "Known" in the entire school, so even with this status I don't want to show up late, especially the first day of class. :)

Was my move on this a DHV or a neutral, or still a DLV?

I'd rather not show up than to show up late and look like a slacker!

I have to disagree, personally i think to myself when people dont show up on the first day it shows lack of responsibility. Id have shown up late instead of not at all.

Sometimes being late is a conversation starter, sometimes so is being absent...but being absent means you miss all the material and have to put the convo on lay-away. (in other words the convo cannot take place then.)

I agree with Ka

Being late gives you the chance to open with a funny story about why you were late. Even if the story is a little exaggerated or even completely fabricated, if your target laughs, you have DHV.

Another reason not to game in school.

It is silly to think of this in the sense of the game. It is irresponsible to show up late and to not show up at all.

Pride in yourself and your life should transcend the game.

It was a DLV. To yourself.

i would show up late, mainly because to everyone in my school im super funny and can always pull things off even in the worst cases, and i can usually make everyone laugh their asses off ( working on stand up ) so i would show up and make something up, or as a comedian would do, tell the truth but extend it to your liking but still belieavable

There's a college opinion opener right there! Should you show up late or not at all?

I think that showing up late is better than not showing up. Keep in mind the #1 reason that you are in school...to go to class.

Usually if I am late I don't go to it, it is part of my punishment for being on time the next time. As far as the materials for class, I already have all the classes locked down, this quarter will be a straight A.
