Why is right action so hard to take?

We all know that taking right action has long term benefits and that when you live in accordance to right action you are a happier more motivated person. This is a fact. You are moving forward and growing. Living in alignment with your goals and values, succeeding, becoming fitter, healthier, more socially acute, with more confidence, charisma, self esteem, wealthier, and ultimately happier, free and fulfilled.

The easy action however, staying in bed in the morning, procrastinating, watching TV, movies, cleaning your desk over the big assignment thats due in, eating over going for a run, saying nothing over starting a conversation with a beautiful women. Only has temporary satisfaction, sometimes as little as seconds, and then after we feel like absolute shit, lazy, low self esteem, depressed, go home and masturbate and cry until nothing comes out.

As far as I can decipher its the pain vs pleasure relationship Antony Robbins talks about. Everything we do in life moves us towards pleasure and away from pain. And that instant pain is a lot more real to us at that moment in time than the long term pleasure that awaits us on the other side. Therefore we eat that big succulent slice of chocolate cake, have that cosy warm lay in in the morning, clean our desk when other more important and beneficial things need attending to, and walk away from that woman in shameful silence with our tail between our legs and dick in our hands when faced with our fight or flight reaction.

Dr Paul talks on David Ds 'on being a man' about something I feel is very simple yet powerful, he boils it down to courage. Courage = Confidence. He goes as far as saying that it is one of the rarities of science that works 100% of the time, which if any science geeks are reading this, they will know is a very rare occurrence.

So courage. "Courage is not the absence of fear, courage is acting in the face of fear. It's being afraid and doing it anyway"

Think for a second, what, if fear wasn't a issue, could you do right now? If deep you knew what you had to do, what would it be?

This is just my perspective on right action and in conclusion I believe if you take right action enough times you see the rewards (this is very important) and your brain switches it up, it associates more pleasure to taking right action and pain to the easy path. Taking right action becomes fun. The trick is that for so long people wait for the right action to be what they always want to do, when in reality right action in the moment is not going to always be the option that generates the most pleasure. Courage is a proactive decision and we are all capable of making decisions. A man who doesn't make any decisions is dead. Every decision we every make is either a little bit constructive or destructive, what will your decisions be?.

All feedback and opinions are encouraged.

Yea, it's either get busy living or get busy dying. You are moving one way or another in life, and your daily decisions are what push you in either direction. The reality is that we often take the path of least resistance because it is in our nature to avoid headaches, hardships, excessive effort, pain, and aggravation. Then we succumb to our own inertia.

I totally agree about the courage thing. I've seen people who are failures in life and it is because they were very timid and afraid of many things, even having irrational fears. Those who succeeded in many ways didn't give a fuck, and were able to overcome and endure the pain and hardships and eventually attain success. That's why it's so important to teach people what being a man is all about. Even women need to man up sometimes. A man has strength of body AND mind.

Driven and successful people usually have a lot of energy are are viewed as strong-willed, and sometimes physically strong and imposing. Weak people are frail, timid, and lazy and viewed as losers. This isn't exactly a great revalation, but it's pretty clear that you need to be courageous and have a strong constitution in order to continually make good choices in life.
