My first post was a hello and saying I'm now back in the game after splitting with my ex of 5 years a week ago. I'm still hurting like fuck and don't even know how to build the confidence with her still playing on my mind. She was a HB9 and I will never ever get anyone near her looks so having to drop my standards. I'm rubbish at speaking with girls and have just bought the rules of the game book to try and get started at feeling human again. She was a lying, sneaky cheating little shit and she had to go but I'm struggling to stop thinking about her and think of moving on. Where the fuck do I start or is this one of them "time will heal" things?

It's like poison ivy. Ever had that? It itches for a week straight, but you can't scratch it or it'll only get worse. Once you get it all you can do is wait it out. It'll hurt, itch, and leave scars that will last for several weeks, sometimes longer. But you just have to man up and suffer through it till it goes away. Time heals all wounds.

Analogies aside, let's now address your self-limiting belief system. You can always get a girl as good looking as her, or even better, as long as you try. Work on improving yourself, not self-loathing or dwelling on negative things or things in the past that you have no control over.

I thought that too, even after reading The Game and some Mystery Method stuff. I came to this forum, saw all the topics and threads, and I felt overwhelmed. Now the forum seems kind of small to me, with a lot of the same stuff being mentioned over and over again. It's all relative. But from a noob's eyes, I agree that it can seem a bit overwhelming. However, once you give it a little time and start the learning process, it becomes much clearer.

If I were you I'd start first with personal improvement. Fix yourself up physically. Start writing things down that you need to change, and change them. Write down things you need to avoid doing, and make sure not to do them again. Set some goals that are acheivable and work towards fulfilling them. Obviously, the first thing you need to do is shed this belief that you are not worthy of the things you want in life.

The next step is to learn pickup. You'll need to read a lot and watch some youtube videos. It's like chess. It's starts with an opening, a middle game, and an endgame (close)--with a lot of strategies in between. The key is to begin opening sets (talking to women) early on, and incorporate what you are learning with "in-field" experiences. Don't just sit on your computer for two months straight and absorb knowledge. You must apply it to real life in order for it to take effect.
