I want your help with ideas on how to follow up a number close I got last night, cause it was very subtle at the time.

Heres how it happened.
I was waiting at the bar with my mate and a girl waiting behind. So over the shoulder I open this girl with "hi, are you out here for your christmas party?" her: with an accent "already had it, blah, january, blah,blah..." me: "where are you from?". her: "California" (note: I'm in sydney)

At this point I check her out top to bottom and say "is that a California tan your wearing" throw in a little bit of kino. Ask what she does "IT HR" I say great I'm in IT I might need to give you call some time, so she gives me her business card.

My drinks came to the bar so I grabbed them and as I walked off said "I'll see you later and if I dont have a great night"

I take this as a learning experience. IfI get a number this this again I can reply with something like "Can I call this number after hours?"

My dilemna: I know that was a weak close and I got her number on the pretext of "work", a number is better than no number. It was very short and there was not much sexuality in the conversation, .. how can I follow this up? what kind of call or text to use?

Give her a call and say something like, "let's meet up for coffee..."

Damn! turns out the card doesnt have cell number on it. its purely office numbers. I'll move on to the next one.

As they say on OZTRALIA - BUGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You could try calling her office number and asking for her - that could be risky as she may not like taking personal calls from her work but its less likely she will be rude.

Depends on how much you like her- you could just roll the dice and see how you go and if nothing comes of it - who cares!!!

Could try something like;
call her office, ask to put her on for an IT related subject,
then ask her how'd she get so tanned and if she wants to explain it to you over coffee? :p

Would probably give you points for originality with her.

Does the card have her mobile on it? if so send her a text saying something like "Hey how is that tan Miss IT"? take it from there. Cos you reference the tan it ought to jog her memory and because you have started out NOT talking about work, the convo should continue in that direction.
