Okay, so here's my OKC profile: http://www.okcupid.com/profile/Vaubant

A few things off the bat:

- I know there are references to gaming and somewhat geeky stuff. The point being to attract the kind of girls who are into that, so I thought i'd be upfront about it. Any advice on this matter is appreciated.

- I'm mostly looking for casual dating, but in a relationship perspective.

- I used to be heavy into the game 2 years back (I took a long hiatus to focus on my career), so i'm kinda rusty right now. I also don't have a lot of time to go out due to my job, which is why I focus on online dating for now.

- I'm looking for somewhat geeky and intelligent girls, and I find OKC has a lot more of them than POF. Keep that in mind as well. I'm educated as well, which is why i'm not really looking for a party girl (No hate though).

Any advice you guys can shoot my way, general or specific to my profile will be greatly appreciated :)

Your general writing style is excellent, and profile is well constructed.

Few tips from me:

1) You can always work on your profile picture, even if you have great ones. I couldn't find a single photo, which displayed confidence, and just so you know - that head-tilting that you do - is displaying general interest, and comes off as a bad posture in general.

2) If possible, hide your relationship status.

3) You come off as a great fun times guy, but you need to balance your awesomeness, or at least spice it up with some bad boy mentality and in general, be somewhat more romantic.

+ pasted from different

Your are in solitary places for all your photos, you need to be with people (preferably women).
You are not having fun in any of your photos, If you play any sports post photos of that. Travel photos work

I read somewhere that even in pictures, women want what they can't have and that by not looking directly into the camera, you seem to grab the attention more. I haven't tested that, but in most of your pictures you're looking directly at the camera. It's worth removing some of those and adding a few non direct to see if that helps.

Happy hunting

Great advice, especially you Steamrolla!

1) I'll look through my pictures for better ones. Is it alright if my pictures where i'm partying are somewhat goofy? I can't say i'm at my best presentation, but I reckon my other more "serious" pictures will counterbalance that.

2) Sadly no can do on OKC

3) I'll spice up my writing with a few romantic references, thanks for the tips.

Great feedback in general guys, guess it's time for me to take out my photo albums from England and Cali :P

In storywriting, there's a concept of 'showing vs. telling'. Meaning that your story will be a lot more vivid and gripping if you show the reader the qualities of your characters, instead of flat-out telling them.

Idk if the same concept applies to online game, but i do know that everyone loves a good story. So if your profile shows more instead of tells, I can't see it hurting. i.e. you say "I'm a man with ambition and drive, I know where i'm going and I know what I want. " You already show some ambition by saying you're going to college

The bit about old ladies and cocaine made me smile

Also who's your LoL main?

your profile is PIMP  do you get a lot of hose off of okc? I mean you're like not jacked up on steroids type of guy but you're the one of those intelligent type of guys that all the HB's seem to put on their most desired list who reads books etc..

Can I copy paste it to mine you won't mind right? Bcos I'm just some guy that plays video games and I don't have any interests, but just make it sound like I'm some upper class education type of person, so I can get HB's reply to me.

Lookin better. I would take the picture of you taking a nap and put it as your main, imo it's your best-looking one. You look like you got a Billy Joe Armstrong thing going on there (lead singer from Greenday) and love or hate his music, that motherfucker has style

I would take out the last one and maybe the second one. Your pics are good, but you're alone in all of them. Throw in 1 or 2 of you with friends/being social and another 1 of you with attractive women (as visual proof that you're not a creep; women look for ANY reason not to date you on these damn sites).

If you have any pictures of yourself exemplifying a skill, throw it in (i.e. i have pics of me playing guitar and breakdancing... thinking about throwing one or the other out. The fewer photos you have, the less you look like you're serious about okc)

Basically you want your photos to paint an exciting lifestyle. Best to have only 1 or 2 of you alone.

Someone just posted some money advice on my thread askin for help.... basically, profiles are like resumes. A jack-of-all-trades resume is never going to do as well as a specialized one. You might disqualify yourself for some jobs with a specialized resume, but your chances of getting the job you want will be much higher. Same concept applies to online profiles. i.e. my profile is still kinda general, so I'm going to play the artistic/creative card since I'm a writer and love music

Oh, some crucial photo tips: basically every site I've looked at keeps quoting this research saying women respond more positively to photos of men looking AWAY from the camera and NOT smiling

Still, it's also good to have at least 1 photo of you showing them pearly whites. It shows you're friendly

Pictures are king, and girls are way more picky than guys are online...

Also girls are way more low self esteem online from the okcupid blog.

I think better pictures, and a bit more mysterious of a profile gets you much further online.
