This all started a few months ago. My car is in the body shop for repairs so i am using the my fathers old jeep YJ (it get a lot af attention because of its huge wheels) to get around. It a hot summer day i have the top and the doors off cruising around with a friend because i have nothing better to do. We're at a stop light and we hear loud voiced from the car behind us. Four girl in the car behind us are trying to get our attention. I pull over in the closes parking lot they pull over next to us, two HB7 and two HB8 on a road trip. they want a ride in the jeep. We exchange numbers and facebook. One HB8 whas giving me a lot of IOI. But this was the end of it. i think i had oneitis for some other girl back then. A few few months pass she's in university and i'm sailing on a tanker. I started reading The Game and i tough of all the IOI she gave me. After a while i end up in port of her university town. i decide to text her:

Me: Hey
HB: Hey, who's this?
Me: *** from the jeep in ***
HB: Hahaha hey!
Me: How's university? (Mistake #1 boring question)
HB:Good Thanks!
Me: I cant remember if you're going to *** university or *** university
HB:***! The other girl that was with me is going to ***
Me: Are you in ***?
HB: Yep!
Me: I dont remember if i tolt you back then but im spending a few month's on a ship for my engineering program. (#2 second time i say i don't remember)
HB: Oh that's cool! good for you
Me: Are you busy? ( trying to get a justification for those short answers)
HB: No haha why?
Me: Just making sure. We're docking in *** for a few days and it reminded me of you
HB: Oh that's fun! Haha nice that you tought of me too
Me: I'd like to met you for coffee tomorrow if that's ok with you. It would be nice to see a familiar face. (#3 big mistake "if that's ok with you")
HB: What time would it be? i have a busy day tomorrow and a lot of classes!
Me: Im off work a five any time after that is fine with me
HB: I'll have to let you know tomorrow if I'm not busy is that okay? Usually i have a lot of work to do at night!
Me: Yes, That's okay.

And i never heard from her again. I want to learn more from this because this seems to be the way it works best. Met IRL and then arrange day 2 by text/facebook

Please keep in mind that english is not my primary language i'm from a french community in canada. She is anglophone and all our interactions where in english. So any feedback on our text conversation on how to improve my language skills would be appreciated.

yea learn from your mistakes is really important

try to think like a business man but act like a fun free social guy

say something like

lets celebrate being awesome by drinking milk tommorow

by saying this ur distracting her from a choice of rejection by the word celebrate and awesome and milk

ur very smart though and its good u know whats wrong in order to correct it

Through experience we are taught by many things especially in sailing because we are aware on the things that is happening to us.

it's great that you're picking up on your mistakes and chalk it down to experience.

personally i would have said "let's get coffee tomorrow". Don't give her the chance to think about it.
When she said can i let you know, i would have said "get back to me by lunch time as I have other options".

But i think your being a little hard on yourself with the "boring questions". Hows university isn't boring, you remembered that she goes there and you have to open the convo somehow.
