I met a girl this weekend, so cute, and exactly my type. We started speaking, she is extremely shy but I got her to laugh a few times, and finally she is ready to go home so I offer to drop her off. She gets out of the car and very unsmoothly I ask for her number, she smiles and obliges.

I wait a day and text her. Our conversation was as followed:

Me: Today is going to be a slow day :p how are you doing today?
Her: It's 11:30 the day has barely even started lol?
Me: Lol, no morning classes for you then I'm guessing
Her: I have a 10 o clock class
Me: Same here and I already feel like I've been up forever. This 3 hours of sleep thing is going to kill me :p
Her: 3 hours?
Me: yeah, for as long as I remembered had trouble getting to sleep. Sucks to try and wake up, but it sure helps with homework!
Her: You only get 3 hours of sleep a night?
Me: Yep, I'd say I average about 4 a night. Is it really that bad lol?
Her: Yea! That's sleep deprivation on the brain
Me: Maybe If you text me a story before bed it will help XD So what is your schedule like today?
Her: Ha no! Classes 1 and 2.
Me: Ahh you have a busy schedule! Too bad, I have nobody to eat lunch with today
Her: That suck. I eat at home everyday.
Me: Is your munch money (on campus currency) starting to get low? I know mine is?
Her:I don't have a meal plan I live in the apartments so I have a full kitchen.
Me:Good idea, it is so much cheaper. But can you cook?
Her: Actually its not cheaper and I don't really cook cuz I don't know how and I hate it.
Me: Lol no way cooking is so fun! Pshh bet I could come show you how it is done
Her: I'm sure
Me: So I'd honestly like to know more about you. Broad Question but what are your interests/ hobbies?

^^^Then text ditched.
So did I do something wrong or does she generally seem uninterested. Leave me some feed back and maybe some advice on what to do next time or whether or not I should text her again.

That was the worst text string I've seen in a while bro, no offense. You came across as needy THREE separate times:

"Maybe If you text me a story before bed"
"bet I could come show you how it is done"
"So I'd honestly like to know more about you."

Then finally after the third strike she was basically like "Fuck this guy" and just bailed. You'll never really get to know girls like this by text. The more you try the more they'll just give you "fuck off" type answers, then eventually go silent. All you can do is try to build a little bit of rapport through text just to get them warmed up to you, then ask them on a date or tell them to meet you somewhere. Either they'll say yes or they'll blow you off and you'll know they were a waste of time anyway.

i find texting annoying. i try to keep it short and sweet. i have used this before though, just text "get fucked" to her in a couple of weeks time.

i have never used this one after a long awkward text battle though, i have done it after having a good night with a chick and a couple of days with no communication.

she replies, im like " OMG im so sorry, that wasn't meant for you its to my friend ( insert similar male name), so how you been anyways

she's skeptical, but is keen to talk. i tell her a back up story related to "get fucked". i ask to catch up, she says yes and really does get fucked

Fresh, your conversation was kind of boring. Honestly I am not sure why she stayed in it as long as she did. You must be fairly physically attractive and she was giving you time to turn it up a notch.

I find the best text conversations are fast and fun in the beginning a lot of flirting and teasing. Once they are involved in the conversation and exchanging these fun messages, try dropping something a little (slightly) sexual into it and see if she runs with it. If so then you should start increasing sexual overtones and innuendo. If she does not bite, just keep rolling with the conversation. \

Am I the only one here that clocked he directly asked for her number? That's a no no. You have to find ways to make her want to give it to you without directly asking. Unfortunately, that was already strike one. You gave her control.
