So on Saturday night I had a first date with a girl I was talking to.

Even though while we were talking and setting it up, nobody actually called it a date, but it was clear that that's what it was.

At around 6 I picked her up from her house and greeted her with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. (Even though a kiss on the cheek seems to be traditionally a friendly gesture I've noticed it seems rare for people who are simply friends to share any type of kiss) It just seemed like a good way to set the tone and break the touch barrier.

After that I drove to the mall and we went to get food. We both ended up paying for our own food as we it was a food court and we got food from different places, however we waited in line with each other at both places. While eating we just had casual conversation about whatever came to mind at the time. She talked more than me throughout the date by far and kept the conversation going which was nice.

After we finished our food I offered to share a smoothie with her but she wasn't int he mood for one so I just got a small one for myself. We walked though the mall and she showed me around, which things were new, her favorite store, ect. While walking I held her hand for a little bit. She didn't object or pull away from the hand holding but I really had to make the move all on my own. I did notice the whole time she was walking closely to me so that seemed like a good sign.

Eventually we found a relaxation spot with a couple couches and chairs. At first we sat in some chairs then eventually moved to the couch. When sitting ont he couch we didn't sit right next to each other but were angled at each other and just talked about some more stuff, the actual context of the conversation wasn't very important so I wont go into it.

After this I drove her back home, I had planned to just drop her off at her house but she offered to show me her back yard so I ended up coming inside. Luckily we didn't actually end up in the back yard because it was cold as fuck outside, but we ended up hanging out in the TV room.

When we got to the room she sat down on a bean bag chair so I sat down on that with her. After a little bit she stood up and sat on the couch. We talked like this for a bit, with me on the bag and her on the couch. I decided that it was time to get her closer so I told her to sit on the bag with me. She smiled a little bit and asked "why?" I smirked and said something along the lines of "I'm cold, cant you tell?" Then she stood up and sat down on the bag with me and I put my arm around her. After this everything became a bit easier.

From here every time we would get up for something she would come back down and sit right next to me so it was obvious she was interested. We cuddled for a bit and talked while watching TV. On said Tv was some soppy movie and we ended up wrestling for the remote. Whilst wrestling her I ended up on top of her and my face was next to hers so i went to kiss her. She pulled away a little bit and smiled, then playfully asked "Are you trying to kiss me?" I simply smirked and said something like "maybe." (In the past the fact she pulled away may have discouraged me but I didn't let it phase me)

Somehow we ended up in a conversation about boobs and how they are the best pillows or something and I poked her int he boob. Not entirely sure why, I just thought it was funny, but she didn't mind. I also noticed that while back on the bag and cuddling she didn't mind when my hand was touching her boob and I'm pretty sure girls notice that shit so I figure that's a good thing.

I think somehow during the wrestling i managed to kick my smoothie over and it made a hole in it, so when i picked it up it spilled all over the floor and a little bit on me. so that kinda sucked lol

Anyway I ended up staying at her place until around 11 and then she walked me out. On the front porch I hugged her goodbye and went for a kiss. She didn't pull away or seem to mind, but she didn't really kiss back. I'm not sure that she was expecting me to kiss her to be honest. The positioning was kinda bad and she said something a little awkward but she had a smile on her face and seemed to be happy. i just turned it into a joke and didn't let it get weird by jokingly saying something like "I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep now." Then after saying goodbye I left and that concluded our date.

The next day I was helping run a debate tournament and she texted me "Good luck" at around 2 so i know she was thinking about me. Overall I think the date went well.

A few things to note: I didn't let the small bumps phase me, even though she pretty much made me do all the work in making moves and such, I simply persisted and it paid off. I'm not sure she was ready to kiss me on the first date because she dodged the first time and seemed surprised the second time, but i think it's good that I went for it anyways. Either way we both had fun and I think there is a good chance at a second date.
