I just thought I'd share this little tidbit that I found pretty funny...so I was at a local party tonight and opened a two set. Eventually introduced them to the best friends test. (the one with shampoo) After I did it they said they heard the exact same thing from some guy around town haha....they asked if I learned it form him and I just BS'ed my way out of it saying I learned it form psychology class then ejected. Just thought it was funny that the community is growing and now the tried and true routines can't be trusted to be unique anymore.

that is funny. i always have a little paranoia about stuff like that.

Of course it backfired, nobody should use the best friends test anymore. At this stage even AFCs are using it from what I've been hearing. I'm scared to use it and I'm in a small Irish town surrounded by guys who probably only read books on how to look intimidating enough to scare me off trying game.
Going out tomorrow night, and once again I'll try to work up the courage to make my first sarge.
Wish me luck, and forget that the best friends test even exists.

It's very possible to use a little damage control and get through it. i.e., "Oh you must have met a friend of mine -- we were just talking about it the other night!"

Well Mates i´ve been out form the community a while bu first of all, well one of the firs stuff that drove me out of this forumnm was taht, mates u should really be more fluid try to use new material, material of ur own, teh things u read from the Game they wont work as they did 7 years ago, If u are areal PUA u dont need to walk away when u get backfired u should really be more imaginative and find was to make ur backfire situtationa an advantage in ur sarge Try C&F First dont walk away try to take advantege of this kinda things Come one mates

To be a good martial artist, you don't need to make up your own moves. The art comes in the execution of moves, and the combinations and applications of them that you arrange.

Of course, you will have to make up variations of the moves on the spot, but one in thinks that using a round-house kick is plagarasing it from the first guy who did it.

I still can use 7 yrs old material as I m from Bucharest Romania, and nobody has a clue what a PUA is, but there are a lot of naturals...And I do a crazy translation of the English routine, and it becomes unrecognizable...

So fucking what if newbs use canned stuff to get them going, if it works, it works. If it doesn't so what, they are in the game, they gained experience. It gave them the balls to approach! That's what fucking counts!

agree with the previous post. howeva canned stuff just gives your mind permission to open/keep going, personally i do best when i drop it and go freestyle but you gotta have life/passion etc to talk about

i never used any of Style's routines before but the other night just for fun i went all out and did best friends test, c/u-smiles, and the trust test on a set of 2 hahaha. luckily they seemed to totally be into it (# closed later). i literally just asked "have you guys heard of this" before each one, I mean it's not like it needs to appear as if you actually invented the routines. i'm more paranoid that they'll Google "c-smiles" afterwards or something....

the problem with canned stuff is that YOU KNOW its canned material and it makes you transparent, sure you get a reaction but do u get laid, i mean once the lines run out and you get LMR what do you do, but there is a middle ground with opinion openers, if you have a genuine question or curiosity about a topic which come up during the day, use this to open, the reason why this works better is that its coming from a place of genuineness, and by the way most women will allow you to game them, they know whats going on, their attitude is let this guy entertain me but she can see right through you, and how will you know? she is reluctant to venue change

The KEY, or rather let me say the problem with using any "Routine" or "Canned Material" is, adaptation! The materials provided are TOOLS. And as tools must adapt to the job at hand. You wouldn't use a hammer to cut tile would you?

They are a guide that must fit the frame, and the timing otherwise you'll come off as a dumb-ass loser, sorta like Wayne Newton trying to sing 50 cent.

They are to learn from, not read over once, not to run down to your local club and spring on some poor unsuspecting harlot that you feel the immediate desire to bang, and you think this brand new magic ling will take care of that for you, because it sounded so nifty when you read it!

I have heard many karaoke singers OWN a song, as if they wrote that shit, but they didn't. They PRACTICED, they ADAPTED it to their style.

The ones that get drunk and try to blabber out that cool Billy Joel song they remember part of from high school...get Boo-ed off the fucking stage.

A routine is probably good to the extent that it allows you to elicit information and build a rapport, but I think it's key to keep it unique. You don't want your cover blown until the right time.
