Hi guys this is something I struggle with. I'm a musician who has a tech part time job to pay the bills. The thing is a lot of my time is spent inside writing music or at work and because I literally work just enough hours to pay my bills (leaving little extra) I don't really have the disposal income (or time) available to be going out doing interesting things, maintaining a healthy social circle etc.

I was wondering if there are any other musicians (or anybody else In a similar situation) who have managed to get round this and if not being able to have a lifestyle that is that interesting at least be able to make a good impression?

What sort of musician are you? Could you look into getting gigs in bars or at wedding receptions or something (obviously depending on what you play). Get a bit of money for it, but also it's very cool and a great way to meet women.

I am not a musician, but I found some software that helped me learn very basic modern songs on a 'keyboard'. I went to an open mic night and played the song. People were very impressed that I had the guts and ingenuity to do this, since I was a total noob.

The girls that reach out to you afterwards will appreciate you for you and your creative side. How is there anything better. Cost? Zero. You are creative so those are probably going to be your people anyway.

I don't spend any money when I go out. Tons of events with no cover. Free dance classes, free entry to clubs and bars. Meetup groups are free. I don't buy alcohol out and I eat at home.

Just hop on your bicycle and you don't even have to worry about gas or bus faires.
