If she's average looking she may have already taken "you're one of those types" as an insult, in which time you need to put a positive spin on it. Maybe say "You're one of those good looking girls who acts shy around guys" or something to that effect. Definitely don't neg her.
Playful stuff like "Wouldn't you like to know" also works as well because it's flirtacious.
