I had two alternatives for how to spend the newyears. one of them was much better than the other. I had been in a great mood one night, i felt a surge of confidence, i chatted up this HB9 and had great flow, putting in negs and using banter. before we parted ways i asked her what plans she had for NYE, she answered that she was going to a party. I said i'il go with you, she said yes and smiled, but no further plans where made.

i had her contact information, and used IM yesterday to set up a more solid "date". But i was not in a great mood, and hadn't been social all day.
here is what i wrote:
ME: "hi missy (trying out the cute nickname)
HER: " hi"
ME: "you know of some party on NYE" (thinking to myself, damn i'm coming of as wanting something from her)
ME: "OR?" (more or less said to break tension as she didn't answer)
ME: "ok this is boring, later" (trying to come off as having better things to do, but now sounding like a low value and bitter person)

I use emoticons when IMing, just to make sure a neg comes off as a neg and not an insult. I usually say "fine, be that way " or words to that effect.
