Came across a POF profile and couldn't remember if I had opened her before or not (turns out I hadn't). Rather than risking sending a 2nd opening message, I went for something a little different:

Me: So, you're pretty cute...why haven't we gone out yet?

Her: awe thank you I dont know guess cause you have yet to ask a girl out mister.

Me: Hmm, you know, that makes sense! I should probably start by asking for your number. I'm T, by the way.

Her: Nice to meet you T. XXX-XXX-XXXX - *NAME*

She's about a 7, and I doubt it would work on anyone higher than that, but I was definitely surprised at how little effort this one took!

I will field test it and let you guys know

Had success with this as an opener with another HB7-7.5 last night. It seems to be getting a similar reply rate for me as one of my normal "random question" style openers, but I'm having much more success actually getting a number using this.

I've been having tons of luck with pof. The past few weeks I have consistently been getting 3-4 numbers/week...even I find it crazy! And I've had 3 f closes. I've been able to get these girls so ready that they start sending ,e pictures and asking me to come over...one offered to cook me breakfast naked! Yes please

you should always get the number after your opener, nothing new there

One I've been using lately..

"Hey _her name_, I saw you viewed my profile, so I gave yours a read. You seem like _quality about her you like/noticed_ and your profile is _good/interesting/funny/whatever_. Thought maybe you'd be interested in chatting some time, and getting to know one another better. Well, if so, drop me a line and let's chat!

This is very basic, but it's succinct, to the point, and gets the important formalities out of the way while expressing intent.

After they respond, I give them at least 12 hours, then say something along the lines of:

"Hey this medium is a little cumbersome for me, mind if we take this to phone/text?"

After they've responded once, they have already shown they're interested.. This will usually result in a # or at the very least, an email. If they respond with an email address I put them on the back burner but will email them 2-3 days later with something that qualifies them and demonstrates high value. "Hey, just here for a moment. Been really busy with _something interesting."... etc etc.

Hopefully I'm not derailing/hijacking your thread. Just wanted to share what's been working for me lately, as simple as it is.


K-closed a girl tonight after 2 dates in 1 day, upon her request. We have another planned for tomorrow.

Also have 2 others in the wind right now, both are out-of-towners so we'll see how it works out. One is DTF (and expressed it) and the other is one who gave me her email rather than phone #.
