As of recently, I'm just an AFC with an AA degree. The past couple years of my life have been limited to books and learning. High School was followed by junior college, and now that I'm out, I have a full five months to myself to do whatever.

Considering how disgustingly broke I've been, I've resorted to taking odd jobs to support myself until I can get a job and work towards being a full-fledged PUA. It's as my dad used to tell me, "Love doesn't cost a thing, but dating sure as shit does".

But, if the things I've read and the things I've heard are true, this is simple AFC-speak. I get the feeling that even though I don't have money for fine threads, drinks out on the town, or associated things and activities, there's still shit I could be doing in the meantime to improve my game. Even if a soldier has no enemies to kill, he can still spend time at the shooting range and clean his weapons.

What, if anything, can I be doing right now?

You have the right attitude, for starters.

A lot of losers make excuses. "Girls are all golddiggers who like money." But I guarantee you, if you took the money away from a truly smooth operator and gave it to one of those losers, the smooth operator would still do just fine. The loser would have this money, and would clumsily wave it around. They wouldn't impress anyone.

Good clothes cost money. But you can't buy good style. When I was in college and pinching pennies, girls loved my style, and half my clothes were from the thrift store. It helped me to stand out from your average boring dude wearing Tommy Hilfiger.

Vacations are expensive. But travel and adventure are cheaper than you think. I'm just at the point in my life where I can stay in a good hotel, and that still doesn't beat the stories I have from staying a hostel. The craziest stories come from road trips, bus rides, hostels, couch surfing, and backpacking.

Drinking is an expensive habit. But the great thing about that is now you'll have to use real courage, instead of liquid courage. Also, you don't need to buy drinks for girls to impress them. I always found that the opposite of impressive. It's the type of thing the average loser does. I'd openly tell girls to buy me a drink instead. You don't have to spend more than $10 when you're out.

Also, being broke is a good way to lose weight. Pushups are free, and a chinup bar is less than 20 bucks.

Dating is tricky. But there's lots of threads about cheap dates. It's the summer and the outdoors are free. The park, the beach, the backyard are all yours. Cooking is cheaper and often more romantic than a dinner out. Movies don't let you interact with her. A bike ride or a game of tennis can leave her feeling way more exhilarated.

I love this post.

Agree 100%. I had no clue about pickup until recently, but I did incredibly well throughout university when I was broke as eff 90% of the time.

Used to go on random adventures in my busted-ass Jeep, or on my motorcycle and it would break down somewhere random hours away from home and I'd have to improvise... Best stories.

When I got a well-paying, big boy job and a nicer car, I became so AFC it was ridiculous. Went on a nice vacation with a bunch of my buddies and even though we had a great time, I wasn't able to do much of anything.

Got laid off from my job and decided to go back to school this fall.... I'm broke again already, and already I'm having more fun and closing more women than before.

In my case, money is the Anti-pua haha. As for style, you can get ideas from magazines or high-end stores or wherever, and hit up outlets, thrift shops, sales, you name it. It takes longer but I find you end up with a more unique and storied wardrobe.

I can't agree more with the posts above. Girls are impressed more by the stories of roadstrips, backpackings... than comfortable tours.
