I have a theory very similar to this, but I've been calling it the "Begging for an AMOG" look. When I say AMOG I'm referring to Mystery's 6 characteristics of an Alpha Male:
1. Well groomed
2. Smiles
3. Connects well with people
4. Conveys a sense of humor
5. Conveys confidence
6. Is seen as the social center of the room

I'm 5'6" and so certainly have never been the largest person in any room. However, I've managed to adapt all of my behaviors in such ways as to have nearly perfected the first 5 things on that list. I would argue that the 6th is almost unnecessary; you merely have to be the social center of her mind.

I have only identified this look properly a total of two times, but it led to a k-close in 60 seconds with one, and a boyfriend who wanted to fight within 60 seconds with the other.
