With your wing at a reasonable distance, approach the target or set and simply ask "Can you girls take a picture of us?".. Judging by their reaction, you can easily tell how interested/receptive they will be to your upcoming routine (any type of cheery tone is a good sign). This is when I hand over my camera phone and make a little joke about them not stealing it.
Next Step: (optional)
(I do this, but any transition into your routine should work fine)
As the girl begins to snap the picture (timing can be an issue, but I do it right as I see her focus on lining up the picture) say "Oh wait you're pretty cute, come here" (as if you hadn't noticed when you first approached). She continues to take the picture and she now comes over to you, not only to return your phone but because you told her to.
You can then look at the picture and neg her with a little joke about her bad picture taking skills and begin your normal routine.
*I like to do this with a set of 2 or 3 girls, but more or less is fine as well. The reason for this is because when you ask the initial question, you are asking the group and not one specific girl; therefore, whoever accepts the task is choosing you rather than them having the satisfaction of being chosen. Also, when I say the "Oh you're pretty cute" line, I am looking at the camera so they do not necessarily know who I am talking to. This is great because it stirs up some natural competition.
