Hey all, I've been browsing a little lately and I'm seeking advice on an odd circumstance. An old childhood friend of mine (I'm 18 now) expressed interest in me, knowledge which was overheard by a close friend of mine. The thing is, I haven't talked to her in person for a couple of years, same for Facebook. How would I open, follow up and see what the situation is via FB or texting without coming off like a bloody nutter?

if you are so focused on the idea that you might seem like a ''bloody nutter'' you probably will seem that way after getting neurotic and self concious, if this isn't a big deal to you and it's just starting a conversation, then it probably won't be a big deal to her, it will just be a conversation

what are you so worried about? if she is interested in you do you honestly think she won't be happy that you started talking to her?

it's like that same thing as if some hottie that you had a crush on contacted you, would you give a shit why? or would you just be happy she is talking to you?

Yeah I realise I've overthought it, I'm new to the PUA scene (friend introduced me to it) and I thought I'd use this opportunity to experiment. I sent:

"Hey! I need to ask you something that has kept me sleepless and I want you to be totally honest with me. It might be awkward between us after this but I have to know how you feel. I have kept this in my mind for a while now but I think it's finally time I'll be straight up and just confront you.... I hope this doesn't ruin the relationship we already have. I just need to know and I don't see any other way I could get over this. It wouldn't be fair on me if I don't get an answer. I want you to tell me truthfully, no matter how harsh it is. I just want your honest opinion... Do you like coke or lemonade?"

(Can't link thread, new member). Thought it'd be a nice way to open a conversation, and I think it worked to some degree.

Her: I think the real problematic question is why are you up so early!

well, you got this, she is practically escalating for you, just don't fall into the trap of overgaming/overthinking, don't cock block yourself, realize she is already into you and just wants you to lead her to the bedroom, no amazing tricks with the bells and whistles and amazing witty lines or anything, she already likes you, just chat her up with flirting and what not (what ever your style is), do you, get her alone and start kissing
