Hey,

I met this chick the other day, had a good conversation with her and closed with her number. That same night she texted me if i wanted to go with her and meet her friends, but i couldnt as i was busy the next day.

I then told her to come with me to a bar, but she had work till 9 and i was heading with my friends at around 6. (not a flake, she told me she couldnt go before i set a time or meeting place)

then she started to say something about how she liked lollies. i then made a stupid comment "ill bring the unmarked van with candy to lure you in, you bring the alcohol haha". i just tried to make something funny of it, since at the time what i wrote sounded funny to me.

the last text she sent to me was 'this all sounds a little tooo creepy'. i dont know if the 'tooo' was on purpose so i could understand that she took it as a joke or if she was actually serious.

I then tried to play it off with "nah dont worry, ill play some good music. (best i could come up with) anyway, yeh ill call you on the weekend, we definitely have to hang."

did i play it off right? im overanalyzing this stuff, but it's better to learn from my mistakes.

Hahaha, I think what you said was funny, but if I were the girl you had just met, that was a little too much too soon.

I have definitely been guilty of this numerous times. I am extremely sarcastic. However, what I have found out is that sarcasm DOES NOT translate to text. She can't tell if you were seriously joking, especially if this is someone you barely know. The tone of your voice is extremely important in pulling off a statement like that.

My advice is to keep the initial conversations more chill until you meet her in person, figure out her personality, etc. Then you can bust out something like that if you know she can handle it.

Sorry but what you said was obviously a joke. The girl must be an idiot to take it seriously.

Personally it seems like a little test she ran (her brain) to see how you would respond. The thing that I've been warned about a fair few times on this forum and have seen other members get warned about is retracting a joke/tease or trying to fix it.

For example: "nah dont worry, ill play some good music." Just makes you seem panicky then she didn't find the joke funny.

You should perhaps have tried to turn the joke back onto her i.e. "how would you know? you must be experiencing this far too often ;P"

Obviously if no reply give it a couple of days then perform another opener. Simple.

ok thanks guys, i guess i'll wait till like monday evening then give her a call to hang out. hopefully waiting past the weekend will give her time to get over it, just incase she didnt understand my joke.

I've been in this position, to get out of it I left it a couple of days and said "Hey I'm pretty bored do you fancy playing a game?" I then ran The Cube. That text will spark curiosity and make you different from every other guy at the same time. If she dosnt respond to it cut your losses and move on, hope this helps you out!
