In my defination and according to me the best alpha man I think is Jack Black. PurePlaya's answer is far and away the most complete one sentence explanation of Alpha I've found yet. What do you think the sentence means? If you don't know what it means you've yet to become alpha or understand it's meaning.
Lets break it down:
Insane level - Unrealistic or unshakable amount
of Intrinsic - Natural Belonging
Self-Worth - respect for or a favourable opinion of oneself
Driven - motivated, pushed toward,
by desire - what you wish or long for
Not ego - Society's thoughts on you, and your thoughts on you based on it. I can't really get into words dozens of pages have been written on the ego.
Unrealistic natural belong to a favourable opinion of oneself motivated by his wishes, not societies thought on him.
Nothing sounds more alpha than the true core confidence this statement speaks. I didn't write a reply to this thread because I feel that is the best answer you can find. That statement encompasses more than one can read in a book, or gain from an experience.
The ego is that man talking about fucking 3000 women, the desire is about actually fucking 3000 women. It is not about what you want to be perceived as, it is about you going for what you want.
Confident men know what they want and go for it. Egotistical men want what every other man has, his value isn't given by himself but by others. The Alpha assumes his value and shows it in all of his behaviors.
Your opinion of Jack Black being a perfect version of Alpha fits into Pure Playa's description. I can not think of a better way to describe a he does have and insane level of intrinsic self-worth and is driven by desire, not ego. He likes having fun not showing off, it just happens to be a rowdy behavior.
Desire I'd also have to agree there is a certain amount of dominance but I'd say a dominant presence isn't always a threatening one. I have presence and I am dominant but at the same time I'm not a threatening guy. As it's been put "your presence is huge, it fills the room", I dominate the attention in the area. Physically dominant men don't have the same presence I do.
I'm having trouble explaining it but I agree with the dominance but it's not a negative dominance, I'd just prefer to say an alpha has "presence".
