Question
I am wondering if there's any differences to how you go about things if the girls message you first. If I get this right, if a girl messages you she must have some interest in you. So what I do online is just make them qualify themselves, chat them up a bit and then ask them out.

Background
I'm a bit lazy when it comes to online dating sites and I don't really like to spam people so I just wait for girls to message me.
I'm okay looking so I can rake one or two messages a week on sites, enough to keep me busy because I'm at school.

An Example
I have an example that I need a bit of guidance on at the moment:

Her: Hi! It's nice to meet you.. well I guess I haven't met you yet, but I did read through your about me in a totally non-creepy way..! but yeah, you seem really interesting!

Me: Oh no! It must be my unlucky day, it's a short 19 year old Vietnamese girl majoring in nursing just like my ex...
OK, you "seem" like a nice girl through but please tell me you clean your room, know how to handle money and don't TP houses for fun. Maybe then I can let you be my friend.

Unlike usual where I take an hour to write out stuff, I just went spontaneous and spit out my reply in 5 minutes. Now I'm starting to wonder if this has too much "ex", in it or if it's too over the top arrogant. If she does reply I'm considering bumping it down a notch because I don't feel that kind of reply matches me since I'm more of a calm, deliberate, and well planned type of guy.
