Hey Guys
This site and books has given me a push to do some crazy things, Stop wanking..Peacocking..learn how to play the guitar..spanish..martial arts..lots of interesting stuff and i somehow managed to sign up for the perth marathon on sunday.
Not sure how to take it, as i have done 1x7mile run on sunday, and thats all. I have no knowledge about dieting or anything.. But i have been eating protein + carbs like no tommorow.
No Training + No diet + Marathon (42km) = Stupid as fuck + cocky - Sore knees - Sore groin + Sympathy Massage + Sympathy cuddles = Beer + Dinner + Sex
Yes ,this forum has lots of information for men who want to learn and grow as human beings.I'm a lifetime distance runner and was a gym rat for over 20 years.
From what you wrote, almost zero mileage in terms of training, you are not likely to finish half a marathon. But because you are young who knows you may have
enough willpower to run ,walk, run, walk to the finish line in about over 5 hours..).It takes about 6 months of training averaging 60 miles a week to complete a marathon comfortably.I personally participated in 3 marathons and completed 2 in not so good times. The unsuccessful one was at over 3/4 mark where it was near my home which I simply walked home.
I have to warn you that recently in my country during a marathon,a young man ran for the first time in his life ( a challenge he set for himself) and with more training than you collapsed and died.My advice is attempt the marathon if you want, feel the excitment but don't push yourself and stop when your body tells it has enough. You'll live to run another marathon if you train hard enough.Impulsiveness has it's pros and cons.Enjoy your life.
