So I did the "girls fighting" opener but I took a different turn than I thought.

It went like this:

ME: Hey, I gotta go in 2 minutes but I need some female advice: What makes a girl want to fight?

GIRL 1: What makes a girl want to fuck???

ME: No, fight like bitchslap each oth-

GIRL 2: Hey, you're alina's brother, right? Yeah you are! We use to study with your sister back then! So, who do you like now? (They all smile and turn in my direction waiting for an answer)

ME: Well, it's not any of you three!

GIRLS (laugh):

Girl 3: Wait, he has a question!

Girl 1: Oh yeah.

ME: Yeah well I just saw 2 sober girls fighting over a midget at that bar yesterday! He had a lot of swag.

Girls: (shocked expressions)

Then they started looking at their pictures and totally ignored me.
So I walked out the bar like nothing happened. I had a neutral poker face.

Not sure what happened there. Maybe it was a test, maybe mixed signals. What do you guys think?

How did you manage to let a question like that just pass by? I'd have said something like:

"Yeah, I know that one, and I'm pretty sure you're horny, but my question was about fighting not fucking"

For that other thing, I think that they know something about you from your sister that's not too attractive, and this midget story is really creepy to put it just like this. Yeah I know it's in the book, I don't care. It might work in Vegas, I don't think it works on normal people... Or not like this. I think they might have even forgotten the question and then a statement like this is just trouble lol. You could have continued like this:

"Yeah I had one, I almost forgot because you were so on with whose brother I am."

And after that I wouldn't have repeated the question for a while because that could also come as needy.

as instinct said, you missed your chance to show value by staying on topic while they gave you better bait. Scripts are great but work on your frame and inner game, missing an easy opening like that is indicative of inner game problems.

I am going to jump in on this one and ask a question. Just to summarize, for him it would have been better to:

A. Listen and react to what they were saying and change the opener all together to fit what they gave him.
B. Stay with what he was saying, acknowledge what they said but then go back to his original plan.
C. Stay with what he originally planned on saying, completely ignoring what they said.

I ask because I really do not know, and I could see the benefits of each of these.
