*I’m trying really hard to remember everything from last night, but I know I’m gonna leave out a bunch of stuff on accident. Oh well!*
So as you can see we had quite the crowd last night! Makes sense though, because we designated Wednesdays as our weekly meetup nights for the Orange County chapter. Some of the guys from the original Casanova Crew graced us with their presence also, which was awesome.
The meeting went pretty well, each of us did a weekly recap, which only went off-track for a little while… haha. But the meeting was great and got me pumped to go out!
Whoa, Before I get started…let’s back up to Tuesday night:

This is my mini-FR inside an FR for Tuesday Dec 19, 2007.
We were at a place called Tapas, or Club Focus, whatever crazy names these clubs go by anymore…I have no idea. Anyways, on to the dirt:
Tuesday was my day of shame. I’ve been making so much progress in my cold approaches, night game, and even my day game that what happened at Focus threw me totally off! I don’t know what it was, but I COULD NOT get into state. I had more AA than I’ve ever had. It was so bad that I didn’t approach one set in all four hours or so that we were there. It was awful, and I totally regressed back to AFC mode. I DID have a great time still. The music was cool, and I spent some time dancing and just having a good time. Watching King Kong *-Close the hottest chick in the club was probably the most entertaining thing all night though. That was awesome, Kong!
That wraps up Tuesday . . . As you can probably see, I had some redeeming to do at Incahoots this Wednesday. Even leaving Club Focus, I was motivated to have my best possible night yet . . . Let’s continue with Wednesday.

The meeting breaks up because we’re all ready to get out there and have a good time. Jack rides gunner in my truck, and asks politely if we can stop by Walgreens. Of course we can, Jack. He wants a Redbull, and as always, I can never resist picking up a Monster in the blue can.
Walking through the front doors, I can tell Jack is ready to have a good night. He briefly opens the cashier while we’re walking by, and opens the photo-girl who has crazy blue hair. I get my cashier talking to me, and she turns out to be really sweet. I could feel it, Jack and I were totally in state before we even stepped foot into the club! The rest of the ride there, we sang and danced in the car to a few awesome songs on the radio to keep up the energy and momentum we had going.
At the front door, I showed Mr. Bouncer my ID and asked him to give me some of those big X’s that I love so much on the backs of my hands. He obliges, I traded my ten dollars to the man in the booth who gave me a little orange ticket in return. I love little orange tickets, so I figured it was a good buy. I took two steps to my right, and a man steals my orange ticket, which made me sad. He told me I could go in though, so I guess it was ok.
Jack disappeared, and so did Status(whom we found in the parking lot a few minutes earlier). I found myself alone. “Well I’m not standing around all by myself! Let’s fix this!” I said to myself as I clapped my hands together loudly(yup, I really did clap my hands. Ha.). I marched right over into my first mixed two set of the night. Nothing particularly special about this one because it was a total throw-away set to test my State, and see how I was doing. They were fun because they both had their arms crossed and looked bored at the beginning, but by the end they were smiling, laughing and gave me high-fives! I love forcing people to open their body language!
After I eject from the previous two-set, I’m on my way to the bathroom when I see a 4-set of dudes, one with a HUGE foam cowboy hat. I throw him a: “Dude! That hat is totally freaking awesome! I love it!” He starts laughing and says thanks. I befriend all four of them, because they look like they could kick my ass if I was on their bad side. Better to have friends than to hit on some guy’s GF and have a fist in your face. I ejected this one too, and head to the bathroom, where I befriended our favorite bathroom attendant. He loves giving out paper towels.
I walked out to the smoker’s patio, met up with some of the guys, and fired up a coffin nail. Niceguy enters a seated mixed two-set. It seems like a throw-away set for Niceguy, but he’s working the set well, so I decided: What the hell, I’ll go distract the guy. I start talking to the guy, who turns out to be kind of a tool, but is still really friendly. Niceguy ejected, and went over to another set on the patio. That’s when I saw Yenwen in what looked like a mixed 3-set. He had wings, so I decided to finish my smoke with the guys and let Yenwen work his magic.
That was when I hear “OH MY GOD! NATE IS THAT YOU?!” I looked over my shoulder at the source of the shrieking, see this HB8/8.5 and instantly thought “OH FUCK! I bet I talked to this girl last week and forgot her name! I had better be really charming so she doesn't realize I forgot who she was!” Turns out she’s a very very old friend of mine who I went to grade school with! She turned out really hot! The kino from her was amazing(because she already knew me, of course), and the conversation was good. I wanted to #Close this girl, I figured with a little isolation I could have easily K-closed. I was feeling it. But I only saw her off the dance floor twice, and both times she was surrounded by obstacles. Bummer. She’ll be there next week, so I’m pretty sure I’ll take care of business 7 days from now. Haha.
I met a couple of the guys inside, when Jackal and Status told me about a two-set over my left shoulder. Two HB7’s. I approached without hesitation, and gave them an opener about the Christmas decorations that I had cooked up last night while inside the club. Then I transitioned them into my Scarf routine and follow up story. One of the HB’s seemed pretty into it, and the other just turned away and talked to some of their friends. Oh well! Ejected myself out onto the smoker’s patio where I believe I led a mixed three set, with D as my wing. That was a lot of fun, and I remember the girls and even the guy being really receptive.
Right after that set, Status came out and told me he forgot I had opened that two-set inside just a few minutes ago. Apparently he approached them with his "Does this make me look like a drug dealer" routine. The girls obviously saw that we were hanging out together, and decided his opener sounded just like me asking if the scarf makes me look gay. He told me that they asked if we were having a bet to see who could ask them the weirdest questions. Hahaha, that was pretty funny actually.
I went inside, where J the Ripper met up with me and told me he wanted to get into a set. Sure! So I follow him about 10 steps before he’s in a two-set: HBBlonde(7.5, lost a bit on the rating for bad posture) and another HB who I don’t even remember. I DO remember that I got HBB isolated almost right away, so Ripper could talk to his target. I had a pretty great interaction with HBB. It seemed like she was really into it, and threw IOI’s and kino at me left and right. I rolled off and let Gotham take my place.
HBB ended up reopening me two to three more times throughout the night. One of those times, she walked behind me and pulled on my scarf to get my attention. She was playing coy, pretending like she didn't do anything, but I caught her looking to see if I had noticed. Of course I did. So I walked over to her (Her back towards me) and gave her a sort-of hip check asking "Excuse me? Just what was that back there?" We had a pretty good conversation and I got my first experience at blowing out some AFC guys. I was surprised at how easy it was to out game them. They just left, didn't put up a fight or anything. Not what I was expecting.
After that set, my memory is a little foggy. I know I approached at least one more set before Gotham came up to me and asked if I’d do a set with him. Sure! We walked over to the bar near the restrooms and he approached the set, building up my Scarf routine/opener perfectly! He pulled me into the set(we pretended like he was dragging me in asking for an opinion haha), and we ran it like clockwork. It seemed like it was going great! Until the infamous Incahoots girl-ADD hit, and they HAD to dance because “OMG IT’S OUR SONG!!!” One of the girls took off, but the other one motioned for us to come dance. Gotham and I just stood there dumbstruck, because we thought we had just been blown out, but one of the girls was telling us to dance. Whatever, we should have gone with them, but who cares! It was a lot of fun.
This is where my memory gets really hazy, I remember approaching a few sets, and went into a seated two-set with Kong. Oh man, these two girls were gorgeous. Both were HB9’s easily, not surprisingly, they made me nervous but were pretty cool despite the fact that they weren’t too responsive.
At some point near the beginning of the night I caught up with HBBlackHair from my last field report at Incahoots. This is the girl I #closed, and have a day2 with this coming Saturday. Well, unfortunately, she was playing mother hen last night. She was little-ms.-bitch-shield if I ever saw it, and was warm and receptive to me, but completely distracted by the guys who were talking with her friends. She tried her hardest to blow out anyone who came to try and game her friends, including some of CC. Oh well guys, you did great, she was just being a bitch. I’ve even been advised by Jack not to pursue her thanks to the way she was acting last night. It’s advice I’m probably going to take.
Thanks to some awesome wing work by J the Ripper, and Black Knight, I was able to isolate HBBlonde and #close her. She ended up calling me after I got home last night, and was wondering where I live… Didn’t realize it at the time, but thanks to a conversation I had with Lucky, I’m aware that she was calling to see if I was free and willing to “hang out.” Oh well. There’s still next Wednesday.
Overall it was an awesome night! I had more fun last night than I have all week. It was cool getting to be in field with Casanova Crew again, and to meet Interkurse, Black Knight, and Jackal for the first time.
Now I’m going to do a basic breakdown of my goals from the night, and I’ll try to make this a regular section of my FR’s from now on:
Goals I set out to achieve:
~Keep working on getting rid of AA (Achieved! I had ZERO AA last night!)
~Approach a ton of sets (Achieved! I more than doubled my lifetime score of Cold Approaches by opening around 15 sets last night.)
~Approach a moving set/practice the CLAW(Failed, didn’t even try.)
~Work on keeping the conversation flowing, and stay in sets longer than I have been. (More success with this tonight, but I have a lot of work to do still)
~Number Close at least one HB (Success!)
~Have an Awesome time!(The most important one. Way more than achieved!)
Goals for next Wednesday:
~Have a GREAT time again!
~Number close the girl I know from grade school. Possibly push for a makeout.
~Work on isolation with HBBlonde and go for the makeout
~ Keep working on staying in a set, and becoming witty/random.
~I’ll update my list later in the week.
