HER: It's blahblahblah.

ME: Okay. That's a pretty cool watch you have there. Where'd you get it? My girlfriend's birth day is next monday and I have to get her a cool gift.

And I don't know what to add on from there. What do you guys think?

Hey man, I can understand your idea bit there are two things that stand out to me which wouldnt really help you progress further than "oh I got from ..."

1: "what time is it?" Doesn't arouse interest which is what your opener needs to do. You need to make her think and respond which is why opinion openers work well.

2: you mentioned having a girlfriend. Unless she specifically asks this and you are unable to avoid answering then do not share this information, it will kill any chance of attraction for a lot of.women.

I think it's better if you use an opener on an person who is already showing showing you IOI's ... (for exemple eye contact)

@spamix is right, it will decrease your chance of being rejected (nothing new here)! Maybe forcing the IOI when she's watching to you by pointing to your wrist with an interrogative face (like when you ask for time) could be good. By this action, you force the IOI so walking to her for opening will certainly work!

Btw, if you want another advice, if you can phone close, don't get your mobile out of your pocket because she will be wondering why you ask time when you have a mobile where time is supposed being on ; )

Of course, however in my country clock on a phone is automatically set by the operator (except if you manually set it, but who does?)! It could be different depending of operators (countries)!

I was wondering, can you give me feedbacks about my advices if you decide using them? That would be great because I presently using another opener for day game! I'll try it too tomorrow and give you commentaries

Telling her you're gonna take a few steps back and then leaning back decreases the pressure of the pickup.
