I have a question but I am missing an answer. I figure this is a good opportunity to ask a stranger on the train and get out of my comfort zone a little more as I often try to do. There just so happens to be a gorgeous older woman in her late twenties sitting across from me. Perfect. I ask. She answers. I tease her. She says she noticed I was writing. I congratulate her on her detective work.
"What's your major?" she asks.
"Secret."
"Tell me"
"Nope."
"You're not going to tell me your major?"
"I'll tell you what, if we ever happen to meet again, through an act of coincidence or fate, I'll tell you my major."
A little while later in the conversation I tell her to give me her number as a backup.
"What?" she laughs
"Yes. As a Plan B. In case fate's a bitch."
She smiles and says "You're very persistent" as she gives me her number.
"You're very persistent" I wasn't sure how to interpret this?
I wouldn't even have posted this on the forums asking this question because I usually take time to reflect and analyze after every approach, but I couldn't quite wrap my head around this one because there seems to be a contradiction. I felt as though this was the best approach I've done. There was a connection immediately, and I don't even know where I came up with the whole fate thing, but I felt like I was 'on' and her response to that was very positive. And she says "You're very persistent" like I was doggin her for her digits even though I made it a point not to convey a lot of interest and to tease her.
Given the context of the situation, what does she mean by this? Would appreciate feedback to help me analyze and improve my game.
Cheers! _________________ The only people for me are the mad ones

Sounds to me like the "You're very persistent" comment was nothing more than an justification for her to give you her number.
