Location: New York | | Hi I met this girl at a club and we really hit it off. So I texted her:
Me: "How is the coolest tattoo on earth coming along?" Referring to me writing on her arm all night.
No answer from her.
After 2 days, I texted her back:
Me: " I was referring to my horrible hand writing on your arm."
She: "Ahhh, now I get it"
She: "It took a while to come off actually".
Me: "lol the pen is to blame."
And I am completely stuck... I just have no idea how to keep the conversation going.

Location: Sarasota, FL | | It doesn't sound like your conversation is going very well. What are you trying to accomplish? Ask her out or ask her to come over to your place. Don't over-think it. Texting should mainly be used for setting up logistics (where and when you're going to see her next).
If you just want to chat, then you should call her.
Just my 2 cents.

I was trying to build comfort before asking her out.
So no indirect approach in the texting game?
What about:
Me: "Hey"
Her: "Hey"
...
Me: "We both have busy schedules but it would be cool to hang out this week."
I am not good at texting at all, either way too direct or way too indirect and nice.
