so yesterday i was at an outdoor bar with live music and volleyball for a friends fundraiser. got there around 2:00. i'm a definite newbie so my plan was to just talk to as many people as i could, be fun, and try to display high value. i looked good and had some confidence going. things were going great, i was making everyone laugh and had talked to a few strangers. there was only one female bartender and she was a solid 8. never planned on really talking to her unless i needed a beer so that's how it went for the 1st 4 hours. around 6:00 i find myself at the outdoor bar with my buddy and maybe another guy on the other side. i've got a little buzz going by now and start small talk with the bartender. my friend joins the conversation and the 3 of us talk for at least 30 minutes. i made her laugh a decent amount and she even told me she didn't have a boyfriend, i never even asked. my friend and i get pulled away from the bar briefly, i forget what for. anyway i was feeling good and decided i might have a decent shot at closing a number from a hot bartender! so a few minutes after getting pulled away i head back to the bar to attempt to get the number. i knew i would get nervous so i just bee lined to the bar and said whatever came to my head (remember i'm a newbie and my plan was to just work on getting over AA that day, just felt i couldn't pass on this opportunity) so i said, "hey nikki you seem like a really cool girl and i'd love to hang out with you sometime. no joke, she cringes lol. so i say "no? that's not a good idea?" she tells me she just broke up with her boyfriend 2 weeks ago or something, after the cringe i wasn't really listening too intently. i say "alright well i would have kicked myself later if i didn't at least try" then i say something along the lines of have a nice night and exit. i know there's plenty i did wrong here and i'd love to hear about it if anyone could give me a few pointers. thanks to all readers!

Hired Guns are hard in general. First of all, they are paid to sit there chit chat, be nice to you, look hot, and to flirt. That's just how they earn their money. Granted she may actually LIKE you but...

-Most HOT girls don't tend to stay single very long at all. A few weeks to MAYBE a month is just about it. The whole breaking up with her BF two weeks ago...probably not a really solid reason. It sounds good, but in reality with the right attraction shouldn't be an issue.

-With Hired Guns you have to get past their shell and get them to open up to you about their personal life. You have to get around the "I'm a hot bartender" frame and get to the real person. This can be difficult with many because they are use to guys trying to do this. In order to do this it usually takes some very good DHV flash game, or being a regular where you get to know her better.

Good job asking for her #. It doesn't hurt anything and it won't be weird the next time you see her cause she wants to keep a customer. Just keep in mind that until you really "break through" with her she is just talking you up like she's done 100 other guys at the bar.

thanks for reading! i see what you are saying about bartenders... it was weird but even after i got rejected i still felt awesome! i went for it and i was glad. i'm sure this experience will help in the long run
