So there's a girl in my social circle who thinks I'm cute, who I flirt with, and who I recently asked out.

She said it could turn into a date but she just got out of a long term relationship.

So I call her up, we exchange text messages and she tells me she "absolutely fell in love with a guy over the weekend."

I'm thinking I just act like I never heard that and treat the next time we hang out like a date any way. Of course I'd calibrate my attitude depending on the vibe she's giving off, but still flirt with her and escalate regardless of her saying its not a date.
