I need advice on whether i should inbox this girl i like. She is in my university and we have a lot of eye contact and i believe she does gives me some indicators of interest. Problem is since i don't have any good mutual friends with her, i can't approach her directly without making it seem weird. So the next best solution i feel is to facebook message her with the content being,

" Hey i didn't want to make it look weird that is why i didnot approach you directly. You seem like an interesting person and i would like to get to know you better, i just hope you don't turn out to be boring ."

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Puts a lot of pressure on her, and also you. Imagine if you don't get a reply, and you see her again...how awkward will it be?

I'd first make the effort to communicate/open her outside of Facebook first.

We were in class together in the previous semester. Her interest was evident then as well, but she had a boyfriend so i didn't do anything. Plus the university's environment doesn't really give a chance to communicate without making it look weirder unless there is someone to introduce the two of you. I haven't approached a girl since i got here, and really if i want to do this is to start making some motion. Even if i fail, because i don't want to regret not trying rather than failure.
