It seems like it's hard to just have a normal conversation with a girl online on a dating site.

Having bad online game seems like a heck of a waste because there's so much potential there. I just keep getting my butt kicked here.

you keep a conversation going by responding to her last message? ask her a question or just say something based on what she last said to you. dig deep in your imagination and keep it out of the ordinary crap most guys send to girls, they get hundreds of messages a week. just dont sound desperate.

I agree with Davidlov, you need to listen to what they respond and delve deeper into that...remember to pick on her/tease her every once in a while as well. Keep her smile on her face and she will want to talk to you. Also, very important! "Once you have her in a very HIGH place, end the conversation" Tell her you're headed out to the gym or store, whatever you want but leave her on a high so she wants to chat with you again and thinks about you while your away.

I'm learning that the goal of messaging girls online (for me) isn't to have a conversation. It's to show them that you're valuable enough to them to be able to escalate to texting, and then from there have conversation. Conversation through text seems easier to keep going and revive, somehow.

When I first started, my messages were long.
Super long.
1,000-5,000 characters long.

I wanted to tell stories right off the bat. I had a female friend look at what I was doing, and she laughed at me and told me I was doing it all wrong.

My goal had been to try and have conversation like I would have in person with someone. It was an admirable goal, but I wasn't going about getting there in the right way.

The best results I've been getting (and admittedly, I'm new to this scene) have come whenever conversation online lasts for about 5-7 messages each way. All of mine are short, based on quips, humor, wittiness, since those are probably my greatest strengths. Most of my messages don't have much substance in them at all. Maybe they end with a question just for her to give me more material to comment on.

And like Crypto says, after 15 back and forth messages, I have a time constraint (real or fake) take me away from the computer, and tell her to keep messaging me or to text me at ###-####, since we've already established that both of us are (insert whatever characteristics you are or you're looking for here). They almost always text.

And then once you've escalated to text, you're pretty much in the clear.

I agree with gingerdactyl...Once you get to the text game your goal is to get a phone call and then the face to face meeting!

Keep your messages short, I reply fast at first and try to have very quick witty/fun text exchanges. Then once she is digigng the excitement/fun of texting you stop it almost immediately (false time constraint). She will be missing you and thinking about you making her smile and laugh (this is where she starts building feelings for you).

I will drop a random text a few hours later "Hey punk...Stop thinking about me like that!

80%+ of the time they will "OMG how did you know I was thinking about you"?

I usually don't respond right away...When I do, I don't answer the question...If she wants to know she will ask again! Your goal is to build excitement, release the excitement, build excitment, release it again...keep rolling with it! Once done right you will have her begging to meet you and telling you that you are making her wet all day long!

I see. This is good material. I guess just knowing what to say is a challenge most of the time for me. Also, what's the deal with phone calls now? Should you try to escalate to phone calls or what? I haven't really used phone calls much since I started texting. I'm 22 btw, it seems like young women prefer texting.

Stop thinking about what to say and say it "Pick on them and they will laugh", if they don't next them...rinse and repeat!
