I guess I made a mess out of it ... was confused at first but I thought I played it well, so I am even more surprised. We exchanged some funny role playing messages, building comfort and all. Then all of a sudden, she strikes with:

HB: bla bla ... will you go to the coming elections?
ME: I usually dont.
HB: -15 points for you then :/ I`m dissapointed
ME: Seriously? You wanna talk about politics?
HB: I guess that is hard to do with you (the smiley face, I thought I was safe)
ME: This is where you are wrong (made a mess right there)
HB: Oh well ... good night
ME: Good night

"This is where you are wrong" line was stupid I know ... should have transitioned right away to something else ... or maybe even try with "I am to tired right now, but tommorow I challenge you to a debate."

What would be the right move? And how do I repair this mess now?

I have this #1 rule which is to never ever talk politics with a target. For the next time if she asks about politics again just go into the "cocky-funny" stuff and say that you will vote for the sexual liberal or the bed conservative party. It will force the best tool of seduction to her: laughter!

Avoiding the discussion of politics is generally a good idea with women. It's a good idea to avoid it at work too. It's a lightning rod subject for a lot of people, and it can be used to immediately disqualify you.

There were a couple of things that are visible in the conversation that can be improved when you're running future conversations with HBs:

1) You replied directly to a question that could have been a shit test or a deliberate disqualification/screening question; the one about attending the elections. It sounds like you didn't normally do this before.
2) Your response generates a negative emotion and you ask her to elaborate on it, which will only strengthen her bad feelings. You also went from entertaining her (something not all guys can do) to trying to appease her (something that all the guys try to do).
3) You tell her she's wrong, and by this time no winking emoticon will save you.

It's happened to all of us at one time or another. Next time you'll be ready for it.
