Today was the 2nd or 3rd sunny day since snow started melting. I went to Library to do my homework, and as I headed home I noticed the 18 (bus) was coming so I decided to ride it instead of walk. At the bus stop was a very attractive blonde who I would say is a 10/10 or maybe 9/10. I stepped on a twig and had it tangled around my feet, and I kept walking while looking down; she smiled when I looked at her (I fucked up by not smiling back). The bus driver creeped up slow, and it was funny. He said "I hope you don't mind nor are late for anything" I said "Nah, It's all good man!"

I stood by the back door, and she sat across the isle on the seat next to me. I said "What you was going? like 3? fow?" and I saw her smile in the corner of my eye.

After a few minutes I worked up the courage to talk to her.

I said "Hey" and she didn't respond so I started repeating "Pssst! Hey!" in a loud whisper. She looked at me and I said "I like your purse!" and she said "Oh, Thanks!" I responded with "I've never seen one like that before" and she said "I don't think I have either" so I said "It must be unique!" and she said "Yeah! I like it that way!" and I said "Oh yeah, me too!" and then the convo died a little

After 30 seconds or so I said "I hope the sun comes back" and she said "it will" and I said "I got my fingers crossed" with the hand gesture. I also said "Well at least it's not cold." She didnt hear me so she said "what" and I repeated "I said well at least it's not cold." She replied "it's supposed to be 70 all week!" and I said "Wow! That's the best news I've heard in a while!"

The convo died here, and I got off about 3 mins later saying "Have a good one" and a quick 3 finger wave. She said "You too!"

so I'm bummed out that I didn't get her number.

I should have opened faster, and framed the conversation better. Possible way would be to say "Does it match your personality?"

After saying this i could have eventually steered the convo into getting her digits.

She was super hot and I hope I see her again.

She gave me all IOIs and a possible IOD was moving her purse back on her opposite side in a protective manner (which may have been more subconscious than anything)

I'm about to go jerk off because I'm lame as fuck!

Don't punish yourself man. This happens to everybody, this kind of things are what make people (who LEARN from their mistakes) better at pick up. On the bright side, now you know what you should do in a situation like this. Some advice:

1. Don't compliment a girl on something she can just say thanks. I try to open with something else than a compliment, try an Opinion Opener, something that will get her attention, interest, and also she will do a lot of the talking.

2. Don't let the convo die in silence, and then restart and then die, succesively. Most people do that, if you can continue and have a good conversation that will make her interest in you grow. As you feel a topic is not getting you anywhere, you change subjects. Movies, drinks, favorite things, places to go, anything.

Nice, thanks for the tips! I am aware of opinion openers, although I have not heard/thought of a good one. I know of some random out-of-nowhere ones such as "is it okay to break up over a text message?" (or however it goes)

Hard to picture myself saying those.

Edit: I also need to work on my convo stamina I let them die because a). I'm dumb, and b). dont want to seem desperate haha
