I think the trick here is to maintain the stronger frame.
Like when she asks what your age is, instead of giving her the answer flat out you turn it into a game for your pleasure.

These are Mystery Method Examples, i believe:

Girl: How old are you?
PUA: Guess.

PUA: How old are you?
Girl: Guess.
PUA: You want me to guess high or guess low?

In both situations you're controlling how the answer is discovered.
In your situation you tried to completely avoid the question, this can be perceived as you trying to find out how many guys she's slept with so you can make up an appropriate numerical response for yourself.

Even if she guesses how many girls you've slept with, you never have to say "correct", but you can say "Very close" or "Pretty good". And I don't think I'd want to know how many dudes she's been with, so personally I wouldn't turn the question back around on her.

I like what Easton had to say. I've also replied to their question with "how much do you weigh?" They usually get embarassed and pause; After that you can take the conversation wherever you want to. They realize they overstepped their boundaries and you're back in control.
