I have been on POF for awhile (I am average looking) and have had a little success. I always mess around with different openers trying to get a response and then the game is on. The problem is getting a response.

My buddy just started using it (Girls think he is really good looking) and it does not matter what he opens with he gets way more responses. He can write "hey" and get lots more responses then whatever openers I use. So yes its A LOT just about looks online, but you still have to have solid game to close the deal.

See the thing about girls is they are like us in that they can't help who they are attracted to. They will make excuses to keep the hot dude in the game after the avg Joe struck out 5 minutes ago doing the same stuff. Its not that it isn't creepy, its just they rationalize it in their head and give you a larger pass the hotter you are.

If you are online you can't really telegraph your body language.

The main point is if they see a really hot dude in great pics and his first message is "have my kids woman" they will send "lol okey" or something even if it is creepy because in their minds they are rationalizing that type of guy as cocky and funny and bold. If I say the same thing its no message back because I'm a creep.

The thing is your results are meaningless besides bogus. By your own opinion and so called results I should be getting 100% reply rate as I an white, decent looking, and tall. Yet at best it is 70%.

If you're what would be considered good looking & you have trouble either you live in the wrong place or there's way too much going on in your profile.

I have a experimental profile located in the UK just to investigate the bounds of possibility of girls behavior over profiles. Only 1 pic of a guy taken outside, bad lighting (too much sunlight), taken from a distance, topless but cropped at the shoulders, and a very generic 5 line profile. That "guy" gets tonnes of profile views from hot girls, plenty of want to meets and an almost depressing amount of unsolicited messages. I don't send messages from it though, so couldn't comment on that aspect.

I think that profile gets what it does because "less is more".

I just got through trying this. I used my regular pics on my pof and cupid. I'm kinda lucky and take good pics. BUT I'm only 5'7". I used profile pics at weird angles and head shots where it was difficult to approximate my height in pics. I put my height as 6'2".

This is the opener I used: Weird results. Almost all the best looking women messaged me back. Not only that, but asked me a question, or made a comment about my profile. Those are two things that could be considered an IoI. I say that because it indicates they would like to converse.
