Hey guys,

I recently moved to a new city and I decided I'll give online dating another whirl. Created a new profile recently and want to make sure I got it right from the get go.

Here is my link - http://www.okcupid.com/profile/AdRush2125

Tear apart the pictures, the context, whichever! Let me know what I need to do or if I'm good to go!

I think you're off to a good start! I wouldn't knock your own job, and I honestly don't understand the whole dog-grooming/toast at Target thing; but otherwise I'd say its a nicely written profile.

Most of your photos look good to me. The one of you in the lobster bib is a little strange to have as a main picture-- are you trying to convey how much you love lobster, or that you're a messy eater... I'm not sure why its in there. Its also not a very good profile picture from a technical standpoint.

I encourage you to read my post where I share my experience of online dating over the course of the past 7 years:

Hey thanks for the reply.

I tamed the poodle thing and knocked my job less - I have a very cocky/sarcastic personality in the real world, but I guess it's tough to portray through text without coming off strange.

There's a large Target building in the middle of downtown Minneapolis(can't miss it) which is the corporate headquarters. I walked in there thinking it was the store and kept waltzing in until security turned me around - it's basically a Minneapolis inside joke.

Regarding my main picture, it's really the only one I have where I'm smiling at the camera extremely naturally. I thought the bib added some subtle humor. I'll take your advice and find a more suitable one once I go out more and have more natural smiles with some women hopefully.

So far I've been getting some good progress. I'm talking to three HB9s and two HB7s. They say my profile is cute and I have 'soothing eyes' - whatever that means haha.

Your too serious have some fun... what am I doing with your life section, you could actually use this...

If I am not traveling to narnia, and defeating the white witch, waiting until the last 30 seconds of my life until Aslan decides to show up and actually do some shit, I am probably fighting off some evil wizards. You think they got it bad in England, yea fuck that, we make Voldemort look retarded here in the states.

In all seriousness I'm like tron, you know that video game where you go into computers, thats pretty much what I do, except I'm not something 13 yr old boys jacked off to cause they couldn't get their hands on their dads playboys in (year tron was big here sorry I dont actually know).

When I'm not out saving the cyber world, fighting off mythical creatures, I like to play guitar. A man once told me, while I was playing on the sides of the street begging for cash to buy the new flavor of ice cream at (ice cream store), I was a rebirth of John Mayer, clearly he was insane, John Mayer is still alive, besides that he sounds like a fairly intelligent man who understands art.

I also enjoy to climb mountains, and I am not talking about those giant ones that you hear about some 12 year old climbing, I mean the ones you find in stores that are probably 15 ft max, but hey, its a hobby... dont judge me, I am tackling my fears slowly slowly. Next step parachuting.

Im really good at:

Ever went to that pancake place when you were a kid and wanted to be able to make it... same here, I never got around to that, but I can make wicked (shows ur bostinian roots) SPAM, and I am not talkking about using quakers shit, I mean like homemade, working on the farm SPAM.

But seriously if you never had food poisoning you should probably not come over for dinner.

Pretty much got bored theres so much ahah sorry, I bet the rest is fine, just have fun with this.

Your main photo should not be one where you are looking at the camera, smiling. There's a good article on OKTrends about this. I referenced it in my Guide.

My progress so far:

I went out with 3 different girls for a total of 6 dates. I found my problem area. If I were to split up my idea of 'chick skills' it would be 3 states - 1) comfort/trust/rapport 2)seduction 3) bed skills

I choke on step 2 HARD. 1 and 3 I'm really confident about, so I need to work on 'just going for it'.

Anyway, time to grab a new batch of dates. I did some heavy modifications to my profile incorporating some tips you guys stated - let me know if it's too much
