As I've become more successful with women, I've noticed that I am starting to feel the need to prove myself too much to mates about my sudden surge of success.

I have noticed that I have become very sensitive to any p*ss-take I get about my looks (which I've always been very insecure about anyway) and when I show mates pictures of any of my conquests, I've found myself being very sensitive to any derogatory comments they make about her.

I've also noticed that people are starting to take pot-shots at me about the girls I get/don't get. One mate in particular really seems to like to like taking a dig at me about girls, despite the fact he has a fiancee himself. Every girl I get is either a "slut" or not as attractive as I have made out. In almost every aspect of our friendship he is an absolute diamond mate, but in this area he's being a c*nt.

I feel like the more comments he makes, the more I try to prove myself to him and a spiral develops.

So, I am considering two options here.

1. I confront him properly about this and explain to him that I will simply not tolerate his behaviour any longer. I imply an ultimatum - that if his comments carry on any longer, our friendship will cease to continue.

2. I reframe his remarks and be the "bigger man", accept that his comments demonstrate his insecurity (not mine) and move on with my life. I should have the inner confidence to rise above this, right?

Thoughts please, chums.

I sense somebody is jealous you get to go out and pick up while their fiancee is having them on a short leash ;)

It's just their insecurity and envy coming through. You don't have to prove anything to them, but if you're bragging with your conquests, then expect them to piss on your parade because they're envious.

My advice is, don't brag. If they ask about it, just smirk and say it's been going very well. The same with your looks, if they tease, just smirk and say, well it's working for me.

Otherwise, any comments towards the girl, you just say, well I like her, she's been amazing.

Don't get into defensive mode or explain yourself to them. Those who can, do. Those who can't criticize. Just remember that every time they try to bring you down with their comments. Don't let it get to you, they wish they were in your shoes, but they're not. It's you who worked on your game and it's you who is having success with women.

Anyways, if they push and push with the criticism, call out the bullshit and tell them their envy is really transparent. When they start to explain themselves, just brush it of with a "cool story brah" kinda of attitude.

Cheers.

The interesting thing is that the friend in question is an absolute natural with women, and his fiancee is absolutely STUNNING.

I think thats why he's reacting like this. His status as "The Man" has been taken and he doesn't like it one bit. Added to that, he can no longer prove himself by going out and pulling a woman, because he's engaged to be married.
